any of these fish at the bay area LFS?

im a tang addict and looking for the following
yellow belly hippo
powder blue/gold rim hybrid
anyone know of any lfs in the area selling these? i know its a long shot but i know they come in from time to time. my lack of motivation to check out the stores these days is the reason why im asking here..haha

 Yup, everyone is looking for a yellow belly hippo Alex, they're not all that common, but you know this :D I'll ask the right people and get back to you though ;)

usually the ones that come up here get swooped up quickly and most come in larger sizes. i did however get a nice small one awhile back from a friend in la but unfortunately it died unexpectedly(or maybe not) after surviving a good 3wks eating and all..surprise surprise huh.

ive had bad luck with the powder blue hybrids and have lost 2 of them. i am now on a mission to find one and raise it successfully with all the tang bullies in my tank.

appreciate the kinda offer. let me know if you're able to track one down.

as far as the tank, there has been little progress with it mostly because of my interests in other things. one of theses days, who knows when ill eventually set it back up as a reef..for the time being its just a happy FOWLR. its a shame cuz its nearly a complete system only needing the lights to be installed. electricity a hefty amoutn of change w/ the tank as is..cant imagine what it will be once i put the artificial sun over it.

ive been so out of the hobby i have no idea what is going on these days. ive also been pretty hesistant to check out mings tank in fear of succumbing to this addiction again.

hows the tank? pretty surprised the other day, i dropped by great bay to find out its under new ownership and undergoing a facelift.

Yah, lot's happenned since you disappeared

tanks fine (now), I discoverred the joys of AEFW (acro eating flatworms). Culled almost all my acro's to get rid of it. Eh, I'll regain everything I lost, except the SI pieces I cherry picked :(

PM me your contact info, I got just the thing for you to feed your fish with :D

You know I usually get a few of those tangs when they are available and I sit on them for months!!! Where are all these people that are buying them. Sometimes I swear that we are in some messed up no fly zone!!! Oh well.

Well off to the airport to go on vacation see you in a week and a half!

There is/was one at Ultimate Aquarium you might want to call them. It might still be there.

You sure it's a Mauritius yellow belly Blue Hippo tang? Could be though, since some Gems did come in recently.

They are coming in regular basis lately to the wholesaler. They even had yellow tang hybrid with chocolate tang.

Sure they're not just in stock currently? Not many shipment get out of Mauritous on a regular basis. I know a larger M. shipment laned recently (hence my Gem tang comment above :D)

Hybrids of many tangs are a fairly common occurance.

saw a gem tang for sale at, it was either live aquaria or Dr. Fosters and Smith (or whatever they are called.. I really don't pay much attention to the online fish shops). The tang was listed for $2,999.99, with a cute little icon next to it inviting you to "add to your cart :)"

Ultimate Aquarium has 2 yellow belly hippos. 1 is beautiful and NOT FOR SALE. The other looks thin and is $99.00 - as of today.
