Any one want to go in on a Saltwaterfish.com buy

i have no problem buying stuff locally or online. im just a cheapass and will try to cut costs pretty much everywhere i can. i know the local shops have to get theirs too, and i have bought some things locally, but honestly i wouldnt have the money to support my habit if i had to pay shelf price for everything. ive only got about $50 in my MH setup, bulbs locally are more than that. sure, it might not be optimum, and i might kill some ****, but i figure im new at it, and i might as well kill cheap **** as opposed to dropping 50 bucks here in town and getting one piece of coral.

Well if you ever think about a group buy just post it. You might find some interest. I am a scuba diver and I love the reefs so I really don't want to kill anything I put in my tank. So far so good.
sounds like you got really cheaps metal halides could you post a picture or tell me a little more about them. you could email me at jhuggins@aaius.com if you want. Thanks

its a pendant off of ebay with a cheap *** 20k bulb in em.

pretty well find them all day long for under $100. if you want them to look like the setup at matts shop he will sell you the reflector/mogul and any ballast off of ebay will run the bulb

and i dont WANT to kill anything, but its bound to happen. im new at it. so if i gotta kill something i might as well learn my lesson cheaply.

but i want a tang real bad

I could use a nice cup of tang too!!

You know, back in the old days we didn't have halides. We had to use flashlights and duct tape them together, then hang them from the rafters. A coral frag was usually only a nickle. A large piece of tyree red watermelon cost about a buck fifty.

Does anyone know what kind of lights the coral from saltwaterfish have been under. Should I place my shrooms high or low in the tank? I am so excited order is coming Friday! Man they are fast! Oh yeah it says you don't need to use the drip method with coral. Why?

I would drip anything shipped to me, if I buy local I would not drip.

The drip method video on saltwaterfish.com is a little ridicoulas to me.

order came in, got a question

order came in, got a question

John and I ordered two green ricordea total.
They put them on the same rock and one is white and after I placed it in my tank it kind of slimed away. The stock is still there but the head look like slime. I emailed saltwaterfish.com but I have not recieved a reply. Has anyone had this experience. Are they tough to get your money back? Besides Everything being really small it looks good. They only gave John 8 hermits instead of ten:(

Saltwaterfish said they would correct there mistake and the dead coral on the next order. That is cool. So if anyone wants to put an order in I have a reference number to add so I can get my coral. I would probably buy more too. Kinda sucks because the only way I get the coral is if I order again.

i ended up with 5 live hermits and 2 peppermints. both of the emerald crabs are doing fantastic though.

overall im sort of ****ed

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. I had thought about ordering from them before when they had there specials on purple tangs but didn't guess I am glad I didn't.

That is muy unfortunato or someshi+. Any of you try to get ahold of SWF's customer service? I've never done any business with SWF.com - but I have used the forum before I found RC. I hope you get this resolved. I'd be sure to make it a point that you post frequently on reef-central. :bum:
