I'm kinda spooked by the heating problem that might happen with just the 4 fans and a closed top and I am not crazy about the lack of actinics or additional lights. It may on the other hand be a killer unit.

interesting, i didnt even notice that it lacks actinic lighting! man...they just cant get anything 'perfect' can they? :lol:
regarding the heat, keep in mind that the rear filtration chambers are open to the environment, so you should get decent heat exchange. i dont think it will overheat
The 12g Nanocube did have tons of problems when it came out the more updated ones got fixed... JBJ puts the date when it was made on the back ... look and see for yourself

If Microsoft can have Windows 95, 98, XP, and Vista crash when they showed it to the public then anything is possible lol ... but yes the 12g rocks its built to last. Modded mine to fit my needs, and I'm very happy with it.
