Any shooters on here??

OK. Epic fail at oaktree today. I changed the PTR91 trigger group out to a Bill Springfield trigger group. Supposed to be real smooth, lighter pull, blah blah blah....won't reset so....that was frustrating. Also discovered that my .300blk upper doesn't like LW15 lowers....also won't reset....weird. All my .223/5.56 uppers run fine on LW15 (I use 'em as beaters). Oh well. Live and learn. On the plus side I scored nice mec gar rebuilds for my p229!

Really? I am absolutely in shock with you folks. It seems you love guns and ammo more than life itself. I get scared just looking at your pictures and hearing your adoration for your weapons. I just do not get it. It scares the hell out of me that what I thought was a peaceful group of reefers have the firepower and love of it to kill anything that moves. Maybe it is just me, but it seems so incongruous that a group of people who love peaceful reefing would love to have weapons to blow stuff up. I am not trying to be political, I just do not get it. Reefing for me is a peaceful activity, almost zen like. Guns and shooting seem diabolically opposed to that mindset.

actually not at all. Not opposite at all. Aiming at a target and trying to hit it can be very zen like. archery, marksmanship it's all like that. Focus. It's just different. And you are being very political with "kill anything that moves". I'm not gonna go past pointing that out, but that's a blatant characterization that frankly has nothing to do with why I shoot and own firearms.

I don't get why you keep coming back to this thread, if the topic bothers you that much, don't click on it. Its not like its some mystery what its about ;).

First off let me say Great thread.
Next: 1panman REALLY!!! This shocks you to see that reefers have more than one hobby? Do you have more than one coral or more than one fish? If so does it mean you love reefing more than life itself ? No it does not. What really SCARES me is this type of mentality. Gun-phobia. "love of it to kill anything that moves"This is your opinion and no one has said this. A group of guys trying to get together for a range day does not mean that they aren't peaceful. You are right you don't get it.There is so much more than involved than loading round into a firearm and pulling the trigger (bang). Let me try to break it down a little. Gun safety, mechanical operation, ammo selection (ballistics, bullet type, powder charge, etc.) loading gear, breakdown and cleaning after. There is so much more involved. I would hope that you would talk to experenced shooters and possibly attend a new shooter / course or event. If you do you'll meet some great people and have a fun time.

It's clear that 1panman1 has never been around weapons other than strapped to a police officer. So I'm a little confused on what he's trying to say is it that since we love reefing and weapons were like bipolar and or like leading a separate life as crazed gunmen lol so far the majority of his posts are to my thread that's funny. For being a member since 2011 either doesn't come on that much or just chooses not to post on stuff but my thread.

Panman- we'd rather you just say "thank you" for protecting you and your family for the past 30-40 years. Without good guys with guns, bad guys with guns would have an easy time overpowering pacifists.

Uhm let's get back on track (I'm guilty too). Anyone know anything about the Nikon m223 irt 2-10? And wow! Everything is sold out at crazy prices!

I have a savage 7mm with some 14 rounds shot thru it. I love it. Usually shoot my cousins that's why mine is soo low. What was the price of the savage you looked at?

Haha that's good walked into that lol his 7mm he lives 2hours north and I never plan on going shooting when I go up north so I get there and he's always let's go shoot stuff haha what can I say..... No? Ya right I say okay let's go make exploding targets and go. Lol

Did anyone get any weapon stuff for Christmas? My wife got "me" a .38special revolver I guess lol she doesn't remember what manufacturer lol so I'm kinda sketchy if she is telling the truth or not.

nope. In fact I actually did the opposite. I took advantage of the potential ban scare and sold off an extra AR. It was gathering dust anyways.

My wife really wants a G19 and I spent half the day calling around looking for one. Anyone know of good local shops that are low on attitude?

riflegear is usually pretty friendly. Dunno if they have one in stock. Best price will probably be turners albeit probably out of stock and the salespeople are...not the sharpest tacks usually. Honestly, I would be patient and troll the used for sale board on CGN. G19s come up for sale all the time. You may not save much more than tax and say get a holster and some extra mags, but hey that's 40-50 bux+ anyways. I got a nice gen 2 g19 at a reasonable price that way....which I like more than the gen3 anyways--grip feels better to me.

Thanks for that. Yes Turner's was one that had such horrible service that I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm big on service so I would gladly pay a few bucks more rather than support bad behavior.

And yes, many are sold out. There's also a show coming up in Ontario in a few weeks that I might try my luck at.
