Any shooters on here??

Again, we should refrain from political discourse. And for damn sure we should always try to remain polite with each other. Snide remarks really have no place ANYWHERE on this board IMO.

I've removed a few posts. Moonpod said it better than I could have, this is not the place for political discussions. :)

How does it compare to a .380? I bought a .380 for my girl since everything else besides the 22LR is too much for her.

but on the buying for the girl topic....a Five Seven isn't....uh....economical???? New they run 1200+ after tax and dros. Used they command a grand. And each shot is still .50 right now, though that's getting better.....

One of the glocks that's ported and has a heavy recoil spring in 9mm is too much????

Yeah you are really buying the brand name when it comes to things such as colt, FN and HK. I never really liked the glocks (just me) but I never thought about a glock as the one you mentioned. I can bring her to a store after the whole frenzy going on and see how she likes it. She does enjoy the bersa and ruger mark 3.

The 5.7 ammo is 50 cents? where? I swore I have seen it cheaper online. Ah man I miss the days when you could buy a thousand rounds of 308 for 150 shipped.

We have local Lounger shooting/johnike grilling day over here a couple times a year.

I really think some sort of lever action will be my next firearm. Those Henry's look really nice, something about the octogon barrel and the brass finish on the reciever.

Kichimark thank you.

PaulB thanks for your service, and Nam!!!!!! Dang ya artillery hadn't changed much since other than the weapons it's still a ton of back breaking, knee busting, ankle rolling, finger smashing work.... Unless your on the M109A6 Paladin that's coush work... Out of the elements AC/heater dry floor to sleep on you hat a CAT that follows you around an carries all the extra rounds in it. No more waiting on the truck to come or the bird to come drop them off 100yards away and having to hump them back to the gun. It's awesome!!! But I'm on the M119 now it sucks.

We had basically mud with some bamboo. I never saw a building , roof, wall, electricity, running water or road the year I was there.

You just gotta love the military they know how to treat you right there hahaha great benefits great pay outstanding travel locations everything

My son just joined the Navy this year and his first duty station is Guam. Scuba and snorkeling every weekend, I'm really jealous. In my 20 with the AF I never got that sweet a duty station.

thank you to all of you who have served and continue to do so. Especially in this holiday season thank you.

Kichimark--just don't go smaller than a glock19. the 26 is friggin impossible to aim. But you can certainly find g19's used for 5 and under and the aftermarket mods aren't that much to cut down recoil.

and 5.7x28 ammo is about 25-30/box of 50

I'm a big fan of the Winchester 92 (the Rifleman gun) None that I know of are made in the USA anymore. Thw Winchester is made in Japan, not as good as USA but better then most. Uberti (Italy) makes a really really nice lever gun and they look like the old Henrys. They cost a ton but really good quality. Rossi makes a good lever gun for the money..

Have you thought of a .38 special ? You can go from mild to +P. My Daughter has shot the five 7 and didn't like it. Once she got a hold of the .357 / 38 she said that's my gun. A large frame revolver loaded with .38 is very easy to shoot and be accurate.
Just a thought.

Moonpod/Chuck,

Lets set a date after the holidays to go up to Oaktree and have some fun!

I have the Glock 27, which I got cause I was amazed how accurate it was for a tiny gun. It fits easily in small spaces. It definitely has some kick though.

Definitely. I have a membership for up there. In fact may go this sunday. I tried to love the g26 and say LC9, but the sig p239 is about as small as I can go (yeah I'm a 9mm goober)

I'm a big fan of the 38/357, I own a few...I'm also a big fan of wearing my reading glasses when I go buy ammo these days.

Anybody here own a .327 mag? The first thing my son said when he found out that I had bought the wrong ammo was "lets just buy another gun" I love that kid :)

Anybody local own a .327? I have a box of ammo to give you

Seems like a pretty insensitive thread to me and it should be locked.

Back to our original thread topic.

I love all kinds of weapons. Grew up using them responsibly, then used them in the army. The past 8 years i have been into archery. Nothing like hunting a whitetail with a bow.

Sharkys machin I should have specified- the navy and airforce are the best the army sucks, its good and bad all in one. It's fun but they have the worst locations ever!!

Army locations do stink. Son was looking at the Army and that was one point I brought up. You used to have a good shot at Germany back in the old days, now not so much.
