Any shooters on here??

LOL. Consolidated....well. First off...wanna sell that lower? Hahaha! Personally I tried the 6.8 thing and didn't really enjoy it. Ammo is expensive and to me it was sorta not really a .308 but not as convenient as .223. I have a .300blk and that's sorta the same (neither here nor there) too but at least it's a SAAMI spec and Remington among others is behind it and its easy to reload if you are into that sort of thing. Prices on .300blk were dropping too until this latest craze hit. Also all you need to change out is the barrel from a standard carbine. So I kept that and ditched 6.8.

From the .223 point of view if you got a "standard" carbine or middy and some sort of varmint or SPRish gun....do you have an ultralight?

Ultra lightweight. Maybe 5lbs. Great plinker. If you haven't tried a RMR dual illuminated...you should

My "pimp" AR. Vltor upper. KAC urx iii forearm. .223 Wylde. Middy 14.5 etc

damn. now you have me looking at 2-300 dollar triggers....almost as bad as reefing....

It really can be. Especially now that everyone is in a buying panic and vendors are gouging. I won't join in the madness, except for magazines. Seems even 1/2 the shooters are resigned to allowing the standard capacity magazines to go bye bye. Although the wind may be leaving those sails, seeing as a report just came out that the Newtown killer didn't have an AR inside the school at all.

yeah isn't that the kicker. I mean gun violence and the Newtown incident is a tragedy, but it sounds like "evil black rifles" had nothing to do with the whole thing. Back to our regularly scheduled programing. On the 6.8 topic. I guess the advantage over .223/5.56 is that it's truer at ranges like 3-600+, but at least given my shooting....my 18" barrels with even stock m193 I couldn't tell the difference.

and thankfully basically most of the fancy trigger groups are sold out at my favorite retailers

I have a "pre ban" eagle arms with old school metal collapsible stock...weighs like 10lbs and its a 16" shorty lol. I've been saving the second lower assy to build up as a....well I think I've changed my mind a million times...but currently thinking 6.8 just to add to the mix...(I forgot I have 12ga too).

I like the fact that aside from mags, the 6.8 upper is interchangeable with my existing lowers....plus it bridges the gap btw .223 and .308. Not that I have any practical use for it other than punching paper.

I don't know.... Anyone have a .223 upper they want to sell? Lol.

and I think I just found the p239 I've been looking for and maybe a FDE FNP9 USG (the FDE was off list and is hard to get in Cali)

Thanks for that. Yes Turner's was one that had such horrible service that I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm big on service so I would gladly pay a few bucks more rather than support bad behavior.

And yes, many are sold out. There's also a show coming up in Ontario in a few weeks that I might try my luck at.

Goto the one in s Pasadena. Ask for Ted the guy is very nice

OK guys....this is how crazy it's gotten. I let myself get talked into a stripped new PSA lower for 250....Insanity.

Okay what's the deal with the "80%" complete lowers? Is it true you can build these into complete firearms and not have to register them?

yes. easiest route to do a pistol AR. Ares Armory in Oceanside (?) used to sell them and have (if you scheduled it right) same day build out as well (takes 5 min on their cnc unless it's doing something else). Problem is that they are sold out of 80% until June or something. ridunculous.

Yeah. At some point (assuming it doesn't get outlawed) I'm gonna build a .300blk pistol since we can't have SBRs
