Any shooters on here??

haha... Yeah.. I do not see the problem with 22.. I just got 1400 rounds the other day. not at $25... but it is all over the place... walmart is the ONLY place I see it in quantity of 1.

Almost like they are purposely under ordering. Just to drive pricing up.

I know I am from MD.... sorry there are no other shooting threads on here.

What's the best overall hand gun for home protection. Prefer magazine. I have big hands as I'm 6"5. But nice enough to bring to the range.

Go to a gun store and hold a bunch of different ones. But the popular brands are Glock, Smith & Wesson, Springfield.

Any models you would recommend? What should I be looking for? Weight? Grip?

What feels comfortable in your hand. For self defense, I'd probably look for a hammerless handgun with a trigger safety. Something like a glock or Springfield XD. Or get a shotgun. There's nothing more distinct than the sound of pumping a shotgun and if they're still around after that, they deserve what's coming.

Just went to ammo bros and that's the gun I liked before I saw your post. So guess that's a good pick then. Has a good weight and grip. Think I found my cherry. :)

Springfield xd40 40 cal
Tactical 5 inch

Solitude I don't think I'm old enough to remember those days but I do remember being able to buy them like bb's in a milk carton style container

Worm5406 doesn't matter where your from brotha, all us legal gun toaters need to stick together! Lol I'm surprised my thread is still here honestly, especially with all these gun laws and open carry suits going around. Figured a mod would have deleted it thanks mods for not deleting it.

I'm glad to see savethereef looking into purchasing a firearm for home defense, I concur glocks and Springfield xd are outstanding firearms. you should definitely take some firearms safety courses. They sound stupid, I know everyone thinks, oh how can I do something that stupid like shoot my leg while cleaning it, but best believe accidents happen. Not the guns fault but your own. So please be safe and think your every move through while handling your firearms.

Ok I'm done preaching lets see some pics!!

Where can I take a class? I'm getting it processed tomorrow. So two weeks I'm ready to hit the range with my own :)

I am not promoting any one place, so drive over to 17020 Alburtis Ave
Artesia, CA 90701 (I did a google search for range near 90706. They have rentals there and a range.

With that being said they most likely have classes there too. My 20yo and I want to take some of the more structured classes that shoot outdoors with different moving evolutions.

Savethereef, do the rebate! Get all the mags you can! Haha

Worm5406, best classes your boy can take, tell him to join the army. He can then teach you all kinds of movements. Lol

Bought my first hand gun in February and will probably have 8 before the year end. i have a
HK 45 FDE, glock 34 gen 4, Walter ppq, Springfield Ro 9mm, glock 17L, .22 target pistol.

Worm5406 haha oh dear, so everyone knows I'm not trying to start a debate which branch is better. Lol
But I'm curious to know what makes you say that? What leads you to believe the marines are soo much better?
