Well here it is again poor planning rears it ugly head into the hobby. I introduced this neon maybe 6 months ago and knew he was semiagressive but not to the extent I'm seeing now.
Recently got a couple of wrasses and one the RED head solon wrasse about two wks ago( last night I saw her for the first time- harrased by the neon - this AM dead!!!
Just recently got a red velvet(I think) from coralreefarm. And noticed the bully at it again.
The answer I probably know.Is there any chance i can trap this little sucker or just live w/o wrasses in my reef>

I find getting a fish out with any kinda rocks in there almost impossible. They are fish and they move fast. We move slow and the net moves slower.

when i had to get my tang out i took about a 1/4 of the rock out (one side) and then waited for him to get on that side and then slipped in a perfectly cut eggcrate between the rock half and the side he was on...then he had nowhere to hide and it was just the trouble of netting him! only problem i see with that is unless the wrasse is big he might just swim though the eggcrate! Good luck!

Thats a great idea. If the fish is too small just put some nylon screen on the egg crate. The kind you put on a window.

yikes- funny i've done this in the past and destroyed an old reef and rockwork, i'm trying the trap hopefully it will work since this guy its a pretty agressive feeder.

I actually just got my purple-back pseudochromis out of my tank with the trap last week. I finally decided to try it and it worked perfectly. The first night I "fished" for about 2 hours with no luck...the second night i got him right away! The trap was a little expensive, but considering the fish i've lost because of that little bugger I think it was a good deal.:D

But I think the trap is hit-or-miss, because none of my other fish even went near it. But it's definitely worth a shot!

i use only a trap to catch any of my fish, i think its the easiest way to catch them.

i used my algae magnet to hold the trap onto the glass in the tank, and would just feed inside it for a couple days to get all the fish used to it.

reefsahoy. das wut im talkin about. das how we do shiz. just spear him and das it. lol jk. ive used the trap like bawla47 said but it took about a week to get all the fish use to it and then BAMM i got my tang and damsil. WORD!
