Any1 have experience with ORA purple plasma?

Found it available today and picked it up. Very beautiful piece.

Does it experience exponential growth like the red planet? Or is it a slow grower?

I had one that grew pretty quickly. I had better luck with that coral than the red planet. However I made a change in my lighting and lost it. :(

My red planet grows at insane rates. Like 1/4" a week!

In 3 months it's gone from frag plug only to tabling at least 2.5" from the base of the plug, and growing new branches all the time.

The purple plasma is definitely doing well. I accidentally broke a branch off and the tissue is already purple again at the fracture site within a few days, so I think I may have answered my own question about its growth rate.

I had really good growth rates with my Purple Plasma. Had it high up in the tank under 400W Radiums. Growth was even faster for my Red Planet, which was also high up.

It is funny I just reset up my tank and red planet frag after 3 months is 4"long and 3" wide, , purple plasma is cool also lives in almost any light and has good daytime pe. RED PLANET IS ONE OF THE BEST AQUARIUM FRAGS YOU CAN GET AT ANY PRICE. Super hearty and super fast grower. Only downside is it grows and shades anything below as do most table corals.

4 YEAR OLD RED PLANET. WISH I STILL HAD THAT OREGON TORT.

best growth with red planet: high light, high flow, high food, high water change. Red planet is one that does not mind slightly dirty water.

Pretty sure ORA purple plasma is an A. horrida which will grow similar to a staghorn but with thinner branching. Probably slower initial growth but should speed up once it starts branching. I have both but have only had PP for a few months.

Wow, that is impressive growth! What are your Alk and CA levels? Also, do you run ULNS and if so, how? Thanks.
