I'm getting some Maxi Mini Carpet Anemones in from a friend in SoCal on Thursday, he's sposta ship Wed. for Thursday delivery.
A few of his local friends flaked on him so he has 6 more available.
If anyone wants to add some to my order, they are $30 each and if you could add $5 to go towards shipping costs that would help, so $35 each total.
These are the anemones that are going for $100-$200 each pretty much everywhere.
No pics, but he assures me that they are good colors and not just green, and I trust him.
These are whole, uncut, unfragged Maxi Mini Carpet Anemones.
If you want one, LMK as soon as poss before the 6 he has remaining are gone.
They're likely to go quick at that price.
You would need to pick them up at my house, I live in Oak Ridge.

They move around the tank, and can sting corals, right?

From what I understand they are similar to BTA's in the sense that once they settle down they tend to stay in one area, but it is possible for them to wander sometimes.
Here's a link to a tank of a friend who had several of them in his tank: http://www.nano - reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=198581&st=1000

He has a good pic of his tank on that page that shows the nems in the front left portion.

It looks like TriMax will be getting the 4 nems that were remaining, if you guys want any you'll have to talk him out of 1 or 2.
If more than one person gets some, whoever gets to my house first will of course have first choice of what comes in.

So how did the mini carpets turn out?? I have been waiting to see pics!!!

Sorry!
Here's mine:

SWEET!!!Love the green one with pink ring. have they wandered around? Think I'm gonna have to get one....Thanks weet, just what I needed another addiction

Lol, mine have wandered very little.
Honestly, the only reason they probably wandered in the first place is cause I picked up the whole aquarium and took it on a road trip, where stuff was shifting around while it was in the car.
(It's just a 4g aquarium)

Pizza anemone (Cryptodendrum adhaesivum)? Are they really sticky? They've been around a long time but I've never seen a close-up of the tentacles to allow for positive ID. If they are and fish wander into them, bye-bye.

Actually, I believe tapetum is the Mini Carpet Anemones.
These are Maxi Minis which are quite a bit larger.
I know the technical name for them but can't remember, morning cup of coffee hasn't kicked in yet. ;)
For the first couple of days my single Sexy Shrimp was hosting in them constantly.
Since the road trip he's only in there part of the time and spends the rest of his time on my single Xenia frag.

On the off chance anyone is interested, here are some other pics from the little Pico tank they are in:

gawsh I love that aquarium.

maxi and mini carpet anemones are the same species.

Google Stichodactyla tapetum

is that the blue sponge Collospongia auris in there?

It's not a sponge at all, it's a Macroalgae.
It was blue before putting it in this tank, but it got the intense electric blue after I added Fiji Mud to the attached Refugium.
I'm pretty sure I can attribute the deepened color to the Mud since it only has 18w of PC lighting over the tank.
After seeing this thread, I believe the Macroalgae is Distromium: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=752085
(pics in the first post are missing but if you look lower on the pg there is a pic that looks identical)
