Anybody ever use this place?

ground might be a little slow in this weather. I definitely wouldn't add that to a an established tank...you'll have a lot of die off doing ground in this cold weather.

yeah I think I will pass on them. sounded to good to be true. I am real tempted to go with tampa bay saltwater. I will actually be in tampa bay in early april. maybe I can pick up some rock and extras in person then. looks like their store is about a mile from the airport. anyone ever bought anything on vacation/work trip and brought it back home on their flight?

what about bulk reef supply's dry rock? no pests, no die off....no hastle! and no extra weight from water. and it's only abouyt 3-4 bucks a pound.

i'm thinking of using it in a tank i'll be putting together soon.

oh and i just saw that you were thinking of bringing rock back with you from tampa. first many airlines charge extra for baggage that weighs more than 50 lbs. and second...the belly of an airplane gets super cold. many airlines don't even allow pets anymore

Yea, I just recently bought some dry rock from bulk reef supply as I want to add a bit more to my tank. Its is nice stuff and priced right.

But even though it was dry, I did have one or two pieces that had a bit of that die off smell. So just to be on the safe side, I did a 2 day bleach bath, 2 days baking soda, and its now sitting in 90 degree saltwater for a week til I make sure its tank ready.

Since I already have LR in my tank, it will eventually seed itself. And the nice thing about it being dry was I was able to drill several holes in pieces of the rock as future locations to easily insert a frag plug.

Several months ago, I had purchased some South pacific bamboni rock dry as well and drilled that to form pillars. But I like the bulkreefsupply stuff better
