Anybody in nashville doing foam/rock wall

I belive there is a 2 part solution as well and for a wall that large it would be worth finding it. Those red cans are running just over 5 bucks a can right now.

Interesting Norman... I can see that the foam that got exposed when the epoxy cracked as we moved or rock/foam between tanks is definitely slowly eroding, but I haven't noticed any of it floating in the tank. I wonder if you might have something actually chomping on yours or something...

I have an aggresive trigger in there and a wrassee, so that may be the case.

Pictures? Are you making rock looking things for the tank? What about doing ceramics? I guess I'd have to have a big kiln for that? They had some nice fake rock looking things at MacnaXX that were ceramic. I've got all my nice Tonga branch and live rock stuck in my tank.

My tank is a divider for the room and what I didn't realize is that you have to have a skinny tall island in the middle that looks nice on both sides. Next time I'm going to get a wider shorter tank (in another 10 years or so....

Sue,

I'd bet you could get with a local ceramic shop and work something out. I've thought about doing that. I pulled some of the Great Stuff from under the sand and it looks like a sand structure. Pretty cool.

yeah i really wish i hadn't seen THIS 25+ page thread on doing one cause now i have this itch & my mind is going 200mph thinking about how i wanna design mine......

The foam stuff looks great and you could have a more solid stucture (if it doesn't float?) with handmade places to put the corals! Wish I had seen this thread (and the 25 page thread) before I put all that new rock in my tank- though it is looking pretty good and the tonga branch really is very nice. I'll try to get some pictures taken, Just need to glue down a few more things.

I'm always afraid that I will want to move something later and it will be stuck....

I've got to take pictures of mine, it's starting to look really good now that I have corals on it. There are actually some holes big enough in the marco rocks for my six-line to swim in and pop out about 8 inches away. My coral banded shrimp hangs out upside down under an overhang all day too.

anybody wanna get together on a "group buy" for the black eggcrate. nowhere locally keeps it as a stock item.....lowe's & home depot only have it in white :mad2:

i found a local place that can get it for about $15/sheet + shipping & could probably get a better deal on a case from the manufacturer.....

ok, so the place i found locally called me back......

black eggcrate comes 15 sheets to a case from the manufacturer & the cost is $217.50 including shipping......that works out to $14.50/sheet (2'x4')

i'm gonna order 3 pieces prob monday..... unless i can get enough people together to order a case

also found the black great stuff pond foam on amazon for $7.99/can & i'll be ordering a few cans of it if somebody wants to get in on that & split shipping cost
