anybody in NJ have an all T5 lighted tank?

One of the many changes I have thought of for my rebuild is switching from 250w P14k DE on an IC ballast to a 6x39w 36" tek light T5 hood. Does anyone have an all T5 lit tank that I could come take a look at? I'd like to see it in person before I make a decision.

I have a tank that I'm starting that will be lighted with all T5's. its the 4x36" in fixture from Tek. You're more than welcome to come take a look at it, but for now, all you'll see is the sand storm But we could temporarily hold it over my 20L to get an idea if you like.

I've seen those fixtures and they're sharp looking. But IMO, they are not optimal for a deeper tank like a 90g, unless you just plan on using the higher rock areas for your photosynthetics.

I have an all T5 4x55Watt setup. I got the retro setup from reefgeek, with the icecap reflectors. definately worth the evxtra dough to get the better reflectors.

it would be on my 40 breeder so its only 16" deep. I've read Iwan's thread, danano's, and others. Just would like to see it in person.

I'm back on the edge of the T5 fence again too!

If the URI bulbs finally happen and the actinics are as nice as the VHO's I might go that way.

I visited dflint's, very nice! I might impose on you for another visit to see how they mount.

Although I am not T-5 only, I have dual 10K175 MHs, I have a 2 x 54w retro from Reef Geek that came with ATI tubes and I just added a second 2x54w retro also from RG. It came with Giessman tubes. I really like the Giessman tubes. And since adding them there has been an immediate response in color & growth from my SPS corals. I am so impressed with it that I am considering a third 2x 54w retro going with all Giessman tubes and eliminating the MHs to cut down on heat.

i am looking to retro my 24 nano with t-5...am also on the search...i remember seeing a 96 watt flouroesent...one base four legs but it wasn' t-5...

Ive heard great things about the giessman bulbs. I have the coralifes now, as my tank gets going, im gonna give them a shot, but I may switch to the giessmans soon.

Ash at IceCap seems to post the most reliable info about the URI T5's. Last post I read said they are waiting on pricing to be established in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

IceCap did get some to test, so this should be close to a reality.

Hope we know before the group buy closes beacuse I'm buying something this time around!

Ive heard D&D, Geisemann, and Helios are the best bulbs out, if I get a retrokit I will be looking for these bulbs personally

nothing like lighting 4 ft w/ actinic for half the wattage (not overdriven on IC 660's of course)
