anybody own a pink lemonade acro?

Fast growing, high light it turns yellow, low light it stays green.
Med to high flow.
Seems to like the light, and alot of flow.

If the colors are yellow or green...why is it called pink lemonade?

I pictured this as being a pink coral.

I have a few frags of this coral. It originated with John Susbilla (tubs), I believe, and several people have it now, including snipersps (march TOTM). It is called Pink lemonade because it has Pink Polyps, and under the correct condition, the main body is yellow. ( although in my frag tank, it is about 10 inches from a 400watt Radium, and is still green. Nonetheless, a very cool color variant.

Here are a few pictures from exoticreefs.us website.

That sucks, David:(

I prefer the green body myself, which I'm able to get at 22" from a 400W Radium.

I just moved the frag to a different part of the tank where is should be getting more current, but I still have it pretty high up in the tank (about 6" from the lights). If the color does not decide to come around in another month or so, I'll probably lower it. Right now it's at about the same level that I put the hot pink prostrata I got from you Karl. That coral has just finally started getting it color back...it had gone so white I thought it was a goner...and that took what almost two months now so I'll give it some time befor I mess with it again.

I use 400w 10'k xm's so that may be the diff with the green and yellow. (Plus i have mine 8 inche sdirectly under my halide.
I found when i ran 20k's i had too much green than i liked.
I do like the blue spectrum just not green corals.

pink lemonade

I have mine about 18 inches below a 250 watt 14K, color is a deep green, with pink polyps. Its one of my favorite acros.
It seems to grow much faster the more light its exposed to but will lose color quickly when it's not receiveing adequate light. Stunning piece!
I was wondering what lighting was used to produce the orange and red coloration?

At one point this Acro was also called "shades of fall". I am waiting for a frag and hopefully it won't turn green!

John just posted this in another forum.

As for coloration it is more of a lime green with lower kelvin lighting (like 10K or Iwasaki) and more of a deep glowing green with 20k type or bluer lighting. In either case the polyps are pink but show better with 20K. It is a very good encruster and will develop a purple base edge growth and as a matter of fact, Jesus came by last night and we talked about it a little and mentioned that the base that was a bit more shaded had more purple to it.

Dear Mr. SNIPERSPS,

Please siir, may we have another pic of your pink lemonade?

Thank you for your time sir, your pal,

PITSTOP

Beautiful, Hugo! How are you able to maintain that mint green?

what i have noticed in my colony is that i had it with 400 20 k and it was darker green and then when i had some problem with my tank i would move it from many places in th tank and finally i put it some were were it seems happy but the only thing is that the bottom half is dark green and the top half is more lime green and right now i have it in 250 watts double ended finis bulbs 14 k and all the fragment that i have passed on to people i have frsgged fropm the bottom were the color is dark green

I was lucky enough to get a piece of this from tubs via hugo today. Polyps are starting to come out as it has been in the tank for about an hour.I stuck it up pretty high in the tank under 250w DE 14k phoenix bulbs. It is probably about a foot from the light. It definately has the greener body as hugo noted these frags are from the greener section of his colony. Time will tell on coloring in the spot I chose. Thanks to both tubs and hugo :D.
