For this camera and my experience thus far, I have to say the DCR-150.

I second that!

BTW...I'm in London this week and taking tons of pics. I went to the London aquarium and took lots of pics....but it was tough since there were crowds, low lighting, and not enough time to mess with white balance and such. Anyway, I will try to post the pics tonight.

Ok Folks the White balancing act is killing me. I just can't seem to capture reds and pinks! I have tried the white lid to adjust the WB and sometimes it works ok but at other times everything looks green.

If you were giving advice on using manual mode what should one do right from the start. What should be the most common settings that are used As in

My basic settings (please forgive me as I am camera illerate) Apt. priority 3.5,ISO 80,shutter speed 1/15,super macro mode. I am trying to shoot top down under 250w and 400w 20k Halides. I can get some ok pics but some of the ones I see here are off da hook!

BTW, I don't have a macro lens yet...............maybe that makes all the difference I dunno

I am still a noob and have yet to master the WB thing, but I am making progress.

Post a few pics and let's see if we can help you out.

Well sometimes I can get good ones. Of course I have all ready deletyed the bad ones :)

as promised....some pics from the London aquarium...they are sub-par, but as good as I could get considering the circumstances:

The outside of the aquarium (you can see the words AQUARIUM if you look closely...the aquarium is in the lower portion of the building

This is the main walking street along the Thames River...the aquarium is just ahead:

They have some cool freshwater aquariums...but I didn't spend a whole lot of time photographing them:

Lots of big sharks, rays, etc...unfortunately the lighting was extremely poor on the large tanks:

I'm viewing your pics from london on my blackberry so I don't get to see the full quality of the image, but even on the blackberry that first one of the goby looks sweet! Can't wait to see pics from sea world.

My first manual WB and low ISO shot. Tell me what you think.

I used a lid from a tupperware bowl in the tank at the same depth and distance of the zoass. ISO speed is 80 and I am shooting with the lens pressed against the glass of the tank. Distance is about 6-8inches. I think.
