anybody use the canon s5is?

I shot some pictures under actinics tonight and I really like the results....for contrast I'm posting pics of the same corals....the first one under regular lights and the second under actinics. My tank is pretty dark with just the actinics on, so I'm pretty impressed at how much light the camera was able to pick up, although I did have to slightly adjust the brightness/contrast on a few of the pics:

I ordered mine last night and can't wait to start using it. Great pics for just learning the camera!!! It's good to know you don't have to break the bank for a good quality camera

I got my Macro lens today and played around with it a little bit.....it's very difficult to use, so it's going to take me a while to get the hang of it. I'm especially having trouble getting good depth of field. Any tips?

Here's a couple of first attempts:

i was using my arm as a brace. it is hard to use for a tank, but still produces some nice lookin stuff.

ive been in the process of setting up a new tank and lots and LOTS of school work, but ill post some pics here soon.

those are some nice lookin pics BTW.

heres a couple pics i snapped off really quick. i was about 10 feet away from the goby.

That cardinal pic is great....I'm guessing you weren't using the Macro lens with these shots.....I'm not able to get focus at 10 ft away from my tank with the Macro lens, but it is impressive that the camera can take such nice close-ups from far away with the regular lens.

Nice pictures guys!
I have the camera as well as I also bought it for Christmas!!
I am nowhere close to you in terms of experience and ability, but with some experimenting and reading, I hope to be able to take good pictures like yourselves.
Alot to learn as I have never had a camera before, especially this quality and with everything it can do!
Thanks

I am really starting to love this camera. I tried out the "stitching" feature today where you take several pictures while panning your camera over an area (it's the icon on the dial that has 2 overlapping rectangles). For this particular shot I took 7 different shots of a fellow reefers tank and used the software that comes with the camera to "stitch" it together, and it did it perfectly. Here is the result:
