hahahaha because FW fish are boring and dont move :P just kidding

I do agree with you there ;) , however it would seem to me that the lighting in a FW tank would not be anywhere near as good as lighting in a SW tank, so I'm surprised at how well those FW pics turned out.....those are really good pics.

By the way, I'm getting a new tank this weekend with 14K MH so hopefully I can get some really good pics of my own take for once!

on the fw tank, i used the flash, but i used a Styrofoam plate as a flash diffuser. basically cut a hole for the lens to go through and that way the flash isnt as harsh.
i also did some PP with those 2. defog and sharpening for the most part. no cropping though.

Thinking about getting this camera. Some of you have said that you were having difficulty with the focus when subjects are far from the glass. Any solutions to this?

I don't think the problem is so much getting focus on subject that are far away......the solution to that seem to be to move back farther from the tank and zoom in (using manual focus)

The problem is getting good close-ups of subjects farther away from the glass. I imagine that this is probably an issue with most cameras. The DC-150 lens may solve this problem, but I have not tried it out yet. I would definitely recommend this camera though.

Nice Blasto! Are those really blue Zoas or is that just the actinics?

I took a couple of pics last night....I'll post them when I get home from work.

so any word on the dcr 150 lens how diff. is it than the 250 I am thinking about getting it if it will allow me to focus close up on subjects halfway back in my tank.

Now my first batch of pics from my new tank!

The tank:

Hasn't quite cleared up all the way, but pretty much there:

Crabs are happy too....I went with live sand instead of crushed coral/aragonite this time....I like the look a lot.

This crab got flipped upside down and was too lazy to get up...he just sat like that for at least an hour.

I hosted a frag swap this weekend..had about 75-100 people turn out. Got a lot of good stuff for cheap.

The tank looks much fuller than it did before the swap:

My biggest purchase ($50) was an RBTA...but well worth the price. This thing is a beauty:
