Hi :)
Anyone heard of Buydig.com? They got pretty good prices!! Are they reputable?
Thanks!
Gemini :p

They are awesome. I bought my 50 in plasma from them. Consumer reports rates them in the top for online shopping.

im gonna try to take some more pics tomorrow.
waiting on a light so i can get some corals, and i just lost a couple fish to ich... maybe i can get a few good pics????

I got an S5is for my birthday and just getting to know the camera. I can see that it was a good choice.

It's a little tricky to get the hang of, but it was definitely a good choice. Let us know if you have any questions.

I ordered the 150 lens from B&H, it should be here tomorrow. If I have any problems, I will post.

Thanks,

Ok, got the lens and adaptor but no means to attach it to the camera?????

I screwed it into the adaptor but no way to attach it to the camera from there.

Was there something else I should bought to go with the lens?

I did snap off a couple of shots by holding the lens and adaptor to the front of the camera but I am sure no else is doing this.

Any ideas?

Here is one of my shots.

The first problem that I have, and this is with all of my shots, is the foggy look to the picture. I get this with and without the lens attachment.

The second problem I have is the lens refocusing. I did turn off the focus safety feature but it still refocuses. This is somewhat minor as I can resolve this by moving back or forth with the lens.

The third problem I ahve is with color rendition.

These are all shot on manual.

Are you using both manual focus and manual white balance? I'd say those pics are pretty darn good for just starting out.

What exactly is it about the color rendition that is bothering you?

I wish I could show you my tank in person. For example, in the below picture the mushrooms are purple and not blue.

Here is a full tank shot. See how it is foggy and not as clear as most of the other pictures here?

I should note that the lighting on my tank is a 72" Nova Extreme Pro with 12 T5-HO bulbs.

question

how about the battery? i see this camera does not have a real li-ion or something of the sort battery pack, and just can come with rechargeable AA batteries. that's a major downside in my book.

Thats a plus in my book. You can buy rechargables that take 15 minutes to charge.

It came with crappy AA batteries but I use Energizer rechargeables. I have a Wii, PS2, PS3, and Box 360 so rechargeables are the way to go for me.

Plus in my book too, as if you run out of charge and don't have a backup, you can get AA batteries anywhere.

Yes....and if you buy the type of rechargable batteried that come pre-charged and don't lose their charge when not being used, they last FOREVER in the camera. I have 2 sets, and I just swap them out when 1 runs out of batteries. Much better than a battery pack IMO.

What ISO are you using? Anything above 200 is going to look "grainy"

Also, what is your F-Stop? If it's down around 2.8 or 3.6 it's much harder to get proper focus then when it's up in the 6-8 range. Do you have your settings set up so that it takes pictures at the best resolution?
