Anybody want to try to save a sun coral?

We got a beautiful sun coral back in May (roughly). We were never really able to get it to feed but it seemed fine. About a month ago we started to notice tissue recession and it is getting worse. Is there any hope for nursing it back? We'd let it go if someone was willing to put in the effort.

Yeah, that's us. Do you have any other nocturnal hand fed corals? I just want to give it the best shot possible...
