anyone change from t5 to halides

i was running a tek 6 bulb fixture 4 inches from the water

now i swapped for a 150w coralife pendants dual 12k bulbs

all the corasl look 10s better and the growth in just the last week is crazy i would say 1/8 inch on some corals

i will be going to bluewave 7 fand dual RO3 pendants (ushio combos in the next month)

anyone see anything like this

do people just grow sps faster under metal halides

corals have been under the t5s for almost a year (went to all 6500 anout 3 months ago)

i am switching this summer as soon as my new stand and canopy is finished being built.

I get good growth w/ T5 but color could be better, and i want to try MH to see if it's easier to get better colors.

Been thinking about it for the color reasons as well. Not sure if its my lights or nutrients are too low. Growth is not an issue.

I went from T5 to MH. I think coloration is better with T5 but overall looks, I like the MH better. It gives you this crip clear look. Biggest issue I have with MH is heat though. It made me buy a chiller.

The bulb combinatin you had for your T5 is a little unusual though, maybe it left you with a sour taste. Did you try anything else? IME, it is much easier to achieve a color you'll like with T5 then it is with MH.

I went from MH to T5 and then back to MH......
The "quality" of the MH light is just better IMO....
