Anyone doing an arduino controller?

I've never had that error so I don't know how to fix it. If you'd like, PM me an email address and I'll send you a sketch that lets you test the DS1307 without use of any library.
 
Ok,

Your libraries need to go here: /usr/share/arduino/libraries

It's a root owned folder so just open a terminal and type 'sudo nautilus'. Paste your library in the directory and everything should work fine (I just tested it)
 
thanks. I had figured that out last night (the location of where it should go) but I never made it to using the library. Baby started crying.... I swear I only have about 15 minutes a day of 'me' time these days. sigh... I love my wife and kid but DAMN some times I just wanna go on vacation from them. It seems like as soon as I sit down to start doing something I have to get up and take care of something else. At this rate I'll be finishing up my controller just in time for my funeral. :lol:
 
well, look at you! Someone's been getting busy! :lol: Boy or girl, I'm stopping at 2. 3 is too much! At least thats what I'm telling myself, who knows if I'll listen though. :crazy1:
 
Alright sweet. Thank you for your help DWZM and Andrew. I have it up and running now. The arduino can tell time and I had it setup to give me a rude awakening this morning. Nothing like waking up to 12 xpg's burning holes in your retinas at 8:30 in the morning! :lol:
 
if I had a nickel for every time i blinded myself with these things... I'd have like $1 or something :lol:

no actually i was exaggerating about this morning, i had taped some paper over the LED's a couple days ago because they were giving me a massive headache when i was trying different ways to dim them.
 
Hi all,

I just received the board and the driver today. I'm using Meanwell Driver 60-48P. Is there any link/thread that help to build the circuit to convert 5v to 10v to control the meanwell?

I'm still waiting for PCBs from my board house for my prototype shield to drive the ELNs. In the meantime, I know a few people have it working so maybe they can chime in.
 
FWIW my design puts a transistor on each PWM pin. There's a LDO 10v regulator on the shield. The transistor switches the PWM signal from the Arduino at 10v, so the end result is a 10v PWM signal.
 
just curious will the meanwell drivers currently see the arduino's 5v pwm signal or does it need the full 10v pwm signal

I'm very interested on the shield. Meanwhile, I'm gonna look around to see if anyone has a diagram or can show me how to do this.
 
I still like the "make my own" approach because it's like half the price (again). Or even cheaper if a manufacturer sends you a tube of free samples. :lol:

I appreciate everything Sparkfun does for the electronics hobby buy I can't fathom how they get away with charging $20 for their RTC breakout board.
 
If I recall there's 2 different thoughts on markup of open source stuff. Some go with 1.6 and some go with 2.6... obviously sparkfun goes with the latter.

I just don't like the fact that it costs me $22 in shipping when I can just order from digikey and pay $8... of course so far they're the only place I can find arduino double high pins at a reasonable price.
 
FWIW, Seeedstudio is only marginally more expensive for the stacking headers, and moderndevice is the same price (50 cents each). Moderndevice is one of my favorite shops for this stuff. No nonsense there.
