Anyone else been following SPAZZ's needle wheel thread?

I've been following this thread since he posted it and It's just getting fricking nuts!

Other than size, it doesn't look like there's really anything remarkable about it...personally I'm more a fan of the 4'+ quad beckett skimmers that get posted in DIY

It's basically setup like a Bubble King with the diffuser plate on the bottom and the way it's plumbed up.

He's going to have 2 Dart pumps with custom made needle wheel impellars on it. Then an airpump to help force air into them.

This will be running on less than 300watts of electricty compared to the beckett skimmers which are running tons of power.

As a beckett fan first off you would run a beckett skimmer that size on a Sequence so it isn't that horrible on wattage but Spazz's needlewheel is REAL impressive. You know your doing something right if the manufacter is coming back after you asking you how you did it.

Wonder what he payed for that acrylic tubing alone, man thats nuts.

When you start making stuff like that you have taken the hobby to far, might as well just live in a submarine.

He said he actually only has $800 in the skimmer! He got a couple of those tubes from some medical supply place that was closing or something.

That guy is planning on building like a 10,000 - 20,000 gal. tank in his new house when he gets it built! Check out like the last 10 pages of that thread, just in case you missed the picture of the ferrari he had parked in the garage!
