Anyone ever seen clowns mate?? I have 2 Black Oscellaris (spelling??) and my girlfriend swears they mated.. All I understood her say was irratic swimming and behavior and they hang out in 1 section of the tank, and they are the only 2 fish in a 55 gallon.. Any help of pics or?????
Thanks,
Mike

They don't mate the way land animals do. The female laid eggs and the male fertilize them.

You just described the natural every day action of just about all clownfish ;)

I've seen Percula clowns spawn. The female seems to became especially aggressive and alert, made the male clean the nesting site and then right before they spawned. Then the female just darted accross the tank like crazy, laid a few eggs, darted around the tank again and repeated this several times. She darted around like she was making sure there were no predators around.

Is there a certain kind of Anemone that the black Ocelaris (spelling) clowns will definately go for?? Also do they have to be a certain age or size for them to spawn?
