My skimmer pump bit the dust today. thought i would ask before i order a new one.

Don't think so, have something laying around that will work? Or should i get a different brand of pump? What will work best?

Are these the pumps that you guys are running on your skimmers?

I wanted to flip pumps on my ASM in the future but with that price no way!

Talk to kent about different impellers. I'd order the regular pump and maybe do something with the mesh or guttergaurd. I was reading a thread where kent was showing off the scrubby pad one he did and he had to take off 1 of his 4 pumps because it was pulling so much air it was too much for the skimmer. And I'm sure you've seen that skimmer! :eek1:

That is the pumps I run on mine and I can tell you that the bubbles are unbelivable. Super small and thick as all get out.

How do they match up to Kentec's Mod

I dont know I have never seen Kents up abd running and I dont have a air meter yet. I wanted a plug and play skimmer that was tried and true that is why I went with the H/S. As for the mesh mods I dont want to take my pumps apart every week to clean them and I see that been a problem with the mesh mods. I guess only time will tell. And I have a 2 year warrenty on my skimmer.
I know Kent has tried about 3 to 5 mods to get were he is at and I dont have that kind of time on my hands.

As much as you paid I wouldn't touch it unless you need to either. You already know the approx skimming capacity of the skimmer as-is and unless you are pushing it to the max I wouldn't do a thing.
