Anyone have any sand? Or know where to get some?

I've read a few threads that said you cant get Southdown anymore. Anyone know where I can get sand?

I gave all of my sand away when I moved last month and now I am ready to get my refugium (100 gal stock tank) set-up. So...I need to get some sand.

Bob, did it pass the VINIGAR test ? I would use pulverize dolomite insted............PEACE

Menard, I've heard and read conflicting thoughts about the vinegar test. If I went with the dolomite, what benefit would I get, it sounds like it wouldn't do anything different than the sand.
If it has to be in the reactor to release any magnesium, how does it help on the bottom of the tank?

The buffering capacity is whole lot better than silicate sand.........PEACE

Hi Dave. I just set up my 90 gal RR about 6months ago. I bought WAY too much sand. It's the white playsand that home depot had. It's very fine. It's made by the company that bought our southdown. I think I paid less than $3 a bag for it. You're welcome to it if you want it it's in my garage. Let me know. I really like it.
