Just wondering if anyone has had long term success with a Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse (Labroides phthirophagus)?

Love their coloration and our common Cleaner Wrasse has been an all star in our tank...

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of failure stories with this species. I know of only two which have ever survived any length of time in captivity; one is owned by an active user on here.

It's a species I will always advise against.

The cleaner wrasse collected off of Africa seem to be the only ones that survive any amount of time in a aquarium

Sounds like one to stay away from...

What's the main issue? Disease? Diet?

Seems the Common Cleaners we've had before do really well when offered nori from the start, as funny as that sounds...
