Anyone have good luck with ATI Actinic T5?

Hi All,

I have several SPS (acros mostly) in my tank, been up almost a year, numbers are stable and have been for months.

Question I have is whether anyone here uses the ATI actinic T5 bulbs with SPS tanks?

I have a dimmable ATI 8-bulb unit and have channel 1 with 2 actinic bulbs.

Channel 2 has 4 Blue+ and 2 Coral +

Is this too much Actinic?

My SPS is not as colorful as I'd like.

Thought? Suggestions?

All appreciated.

Thanks!

Paul

I had 2 actinic for sunrise/sunsetbut it looked too purple. I switched to 1 actinic and a blue+ and its much nicer to look at. IMO.

I use 2 True Actinics in my custom ATI Powermodule. This is my combo.

ATI Purple+
Coral+
Blue LEDs
True Actinic
Aquablue Special
Blue LEDs
Coral+
True Actinic

I was running 4 b+ and 4 c+. Since raising my fixture and adding 2 actinic I have experienced great (not good) improvement. Also note that I reduced my photoperiod and raised the light 3" so there is more to it. I realized I had too much light without proper acclimation. I plan to increase photoperiod over the next several months to find the sweet spot.

I use one actinic in my tube combination, which is as follows:

front blue+ coral+ actinic+ abs purple+ blue+ coral+ blue+ back
