Anyone have the ATL Shades of Fall acro Nasuta?

I just read that the atl SOF is the same coral as pink lemonade.....true?

I was always under this notion as well... it actually seems to me that the original SOF acro was definately yellow with pink (I remember wanting it sooo badly back in the day). I'm thinking that they then started calling it PL when everyone else got a piece and called it such. Then they found a similar coral (green with pink) to substitute in for their original SOF.

I remember thinking to myself, "where did that Shades of Fall acro go... oh theyre calling it pink lemonade now" then about a year or two later the Shades of Fall came back to their website but this time it looked waaaay different.

I have a frag of SOF, im growing it out a little then going to place it. How does it grow and where is the best place to put it (lighting and flow)

high light and flow for better growth, lower light for more green. I have both sof and pl in the same tank and they are different corals.

I got one of the original frags. It was yellow with pinkish red polyps. It quadrupled in size and then I lost it when my nitrates went through the roof.

To add more to the confusion. I purchased a frag of Pink Lemonade at Atlantis last summer. It didn't look like pictures I had seen of Pink Lemonade. It was different looking enough that I sourced a frag of Pink Lemonade from a reputable local reefer who's colony is exactly like every photo I have seen. I am wondering if I ended up with Shades of Fall from Atlantis.

Looks like the same coral to me? The 2 frags you started with were just from different systems, hence they looked different upon arrival. In fact, to me anyway, the coral you received from ATL is a better representative of what a PL frag will usually look like.

Ros sco/Scott- Did I read that right your coral is still a tiny little guy after a year? Hmm the stunted growth will have an effect on the coloration. If that's the case...

I also read the same information on reeffarmers, so one day I met Ming in store I asked him if they are morph from same coral, he said NO.

Here is my shade of fall, it has been doubled since I brought it home.

Both are sweet pick IMO, can't wait for them to grow big and color up.

both look the same to me. PL can develop a pastel green body depending on tank conditions as well

This coral and thread deserves a update.Just started a new frag in my DT.This thing is deff not a PL but similar species as is the aussie SSC

That thing's a small colony. Congrats! Great growth.

Love the color. And it'll be interesting to see if that growth is tabling or bushy. The aussie ssc seem to be tables with short/med branches.

Also keep in mind that Atlantis has 2 different Shades of Fall acros. I think they even had a third for a while.

Original Shades of Fall Acro - Very similar to Pink Lemonade but the base color is more greenish. This coral seems to grow slower than the original Pink Lemonade and branshes out a bit more. This coral also doesn't seem to table.

Shades of Fall Nasuta - Very similar to the SSC like Dan mentioned. Definitely grows in a table, unlike the original. Grows like a weed. This coral is much more common locally and most people seem to just call this the Shades of Fall acro.

^This is the first I have ever heard this? Pretty sure there is only one "atl shades of fall" which was thought to be a nasuta? I am interested to hear where you learned different. Never heard Ming say anything about there being two versions of his shades of fall.

I got a frag of shades of fall and it doesnt look anything like my pink lemonade. I know they grow and look different in other peoples tanks, I'll just have to wait till I see new growth.
