You've been there Elite? I remember seeing an ad for them before. We they the guys trying to do wholesale too?

Several times (yup I have a lot of times :D).. Pretty small place for wholesale and they don't have a lot for saltwater. Fish aren't that healthy. Those guys don't know what they doing. :D

I completely disagree with you on that, besides the fact that is extremelly rude. Hunter (owner) knows SPS far better then 90% of BAR members. He also knows fish quite well. He may have an employee that may not know that much (assumption) but Hunter truly does not deserve what you said!

Lucky Goldfish has some quite rare corals, probably more then most BAR members, and definitly more them most LFS in the bay area!

Hehe... the Craigslist one is a Lucky Gold Fish in San Jose.

Hunter's store in Oakland is *the* Lucky Goldfish, and it's a top notch store.

Yep, go check out Hunter's stuff and let your eyes glaze over :)

Oh brother, see, that's what I get for not reading CR anymore, and for not rading the link

Sorry Phong, I apologize for being rude.

:D np .. if you have time to go to the one in SJ, you will know what I'm talking about. Hopefully they get better. I saw couple new employees there but look like they take care FW section. I believe they are looking for people to take care SW section.

I must say i've got a couple of great frags and a lovely large orange and green acan from Hunter at LGF in Oakland lately, even if it's already decided that we're talking about someone else.

I been there several times, the place is only a couple of miles away from my house. They been setting up a few more tanks about 12 5gal and 12 36gal more tanks at the right side for salt water setup. But the health of their sw fish is not good. They have good fs fish but I don't think they have good experience on sw setup. I would not waste your many buying sw fish from them -- they're guaranted not to last a week in your tank.

I hate to say but I think 6th ave is better :( ..

Like I said, I hope they find someone who know better about sw stuff to help them out.

oh...hmm, now i am scared to even step foot in there. i don't like to see unhealthy fish.

but they have such amazing price, like $10 cleaner shrimps.
but what hood is cheap if you can't keep the animals alive after you get them. ah well..

thanks!!

i might peek in or i might not....let you all know (eek).

Just come in to check it out.. Don't take my word for it :D.. They do have a lot of cheap stuff. They sell Carpet anemone for only $20.

I saw a lady picked up some anemone for $15. She couldn't keep fish alive for more than 1 month. She just goes there and pick up another fish :( .. I wonder how long that anemone last in her tank. Well that is a different topic :D

Cheap is good but there is a risk that you are taking.

Hey. I have no connection with this place, but the bashing needs to stop. I have been there myself and it might not be the best fish store in the area, but leave them alone. Have a Great Day.
