Anyone here dosing DIY 2 part?

Hey guys, I am just getting back into reefing after almost 3 years off. I had a really nice 90 when I lived in Pittsburgh, and Dowflake/Peladow was very easy to find. I'm sure it's different here

So what are you guys using for calcium, and where do I get it?

I looked into it, and ultimately it was cheaper and more convenient to order the two part from bulk reef supply. I was not able to find downflake in town

If you mean mix it yourself I do. I use the brs recipie 1. Sodium carbonate, calcium, and mag. I use an auto doser but prior I used their 1 oz dispenser.

I have heard of people buying bulk chemicals from a chemical supply but I don't know of any local. Brs is simple and cheap enough.

I've never been able to find the calcium part locally so I order it from BRS. For Alk I use baking soda. I would love to be able make my own calcium part too.

Thanks all... I figured snow melt (Prestone Driveway Heat is what I've used for calcium in the past) would be impossible to find around here. It's a shame because it was so cheap... probably $10 for a 20lb bag.

Maybe I will just make a kalk reactor and pump topoff through that.
