Anyone into photography? Share some local stuff if so.

Looking to get back into a slr at some point, so I figured I would see who's doing what within the reef club. Seems like it's been decades but it's really only been a few years since I did photography. Started doing it as a part time gig and it really just killed the fun for me... That and editing is just soooo damn boring for me. Love to shoot, but hate to edit. Most of my paid work was lame and boring stuff for some websites but I did have a few cool shots that I did for Driven Raceway, so if anyone remembers the large billboards in Santa Rosa on the left side of 101 when your headed south just before RP, those were mine. Kind of cool seeing your work literally larger than life. Anyways here's a few of my personal pics of just fun stuff I've done more recently.

Practicing a cinematic look.. Which basically I failed at but my dog is still stupid cute so I'll share anyways.

Beautiful!

I see themes of shadow, contrast and color.

I love the backlighting on the last horse shot. I intentionally don't use backlighting in reef macros. Providing some space behind the subject and not lighting it allows the background to fade to black. In this case it really separates the subject from the background with a well defined and detail rich edge.

Which lenses do you use most?

Yeah my personal tastes are super saturated colors and different types of contrast. I wish I still had my website up cause there was a lot of cool stuff on it, but now it's all stored on a hd somewhere and I really can't remember what I'm allowed to share and what I'm not. This is just stuff sitting in a old flickr account.

The stuff I posted above wasn't too expensive gear wise. There's actually a couple there that were shot with my 40d and maybe even one with a rebel xti.

Those are done nice shots.
My wife bought a cannon rebel something or other. I've messed with it a little and it takes way better photos then my phone :). I just find it hard to make the time to get them from the camera to the computer and posted. If I was into it more I'd find a way to get a macro lens.

Needless to say most of my shooting comes from my phone.

Ken(Reefbass) made a really cool cheat sheet for us photography noobs a couple years ago. I reference it whenever I get out the DSLR.

Nice pics.. I'm slowly convincing myself to get a nice camera body and some decent lenses to start learning on my tank and family. I don't know crap about photography but figure with practice I could at least get a few keepers lol. I like the evo and bridge pic.

Thanks. That's the kind if pictures where gear makes a HUGE difference. That shot wouldn't have been possible with any crop bodies that were available then and I'm sure now. It was extremely dark when I shot that.
