Anyone Keep Blueline Angels?

My LFS has had one for several months now, and just today I talked them down in price. The blueline angel (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) has long been my favorite species of angel, and supposedly Chaetodontoplus angels have a slow growth rate. The tank he'd be going into is a 60g cube (2'x2'x2') with a few other very small fish (none maxing out at more than 3"). Right now he's about 2.5-3" long and I'm wondering if he'd be comfortable in the 60g where he'd reside for 2 years before I upgrade to a 250-350g. I know Copps has a very small specimen in a 60g along with a small regal and gem tang (or at least he did at the time the article was published). Anyone have any experience with this particular species? Any comments, questions, advice or concerns would be much appreciated. Thanks

I take it that it's eating? That's one of the biggest worries with them.

I know mine loves to swim/moved compared to some of my other angels.

However for a 'larger' angels I've seen data that's states they can be kept in 90 gallons. I think they need a 4 foot length to swim in

He's eating very well and looks extremely healthy. He's been there for 4-6 months

The one I had was very out going and ate like a pig. The biggest thing when they start eating is to feed them and feed them often until they develop a gut and are thriving

He's eating very well, but what I'm wondering is if he'd outgrow the 60g cube within those 2 years

Really hard to tell, pomocanthus angels typically grow to 6" or so quickly then seem to stop or slow down significantly. This doesn't always hold true though

If it is a juvenile color still 2 inches max would be fine in a 60. I have a 4 inch blue line and he seemed cramped in my 4ft 120. I have it in a 225 now. Blue lines are not really hard to get I would wait for the bigger tank.

I have kept Bluelines in several of my tanks over the years, and have one in my current 180 gallon. I bought it as a small juvenile 2 years ago and it has grown to roughly 5" in that time and eats like a complete pig. In previous tanks, all larger than my current 180, the bluelines were kept in pairs and grew anywhere from 1-3" in a year. This fish will be cramped in your 60 gallon if it is already 2-3", assuming an average growth rate of .5"-1" a year at the very least. I would hold off until you set up your larger tank.
