Anyone keeping a Royal Pencil wrasse

Has anyone be able to keep one long term? i picked this guy up yesterday and he's eating but I've read it doesn't matter they just don't last more then 6 months.

I saw this pic on the wrasse lover thread elsewhere..... anyway. I'm interested in following along. I have read the same, they are simlair to cleaner wrasse in that sometimes they eat and eat and eat then still die.

I had mine for almost a year and a half before I broke my tank down and re-homed him.

If it does live it us a cool looking wrasse. They say the same about mandarian too

Pencils can go long term in an established reef. You do need to be extra careful with respect to your tank cover. They can get thru any nook or cranny... Good luck

Side note, I really like that deepwater SPS right above him. I have a very similar one, it's one of my favorites.
