Anyone know how to bring coral frags back from Thailand?

Went scuba diving yesterday and fragged a couple of awesome acros and milli. If I can keep them healthy till I come home I want to bring them back if at all possible. If anyone has done this please let me know.
I will be posting some photos when I get back.

FIRST check to make sure what you did wasn't illegal...ever see The Midnite Express? Hear of CITIES ? From what I've read, Thailand takes this very seriously.

A few thousand baht, can solve all your problems.

Isn't there a thai reefer on RC, with a really nice tank? He might know. I think he was in the fruit export business.

I can't believe you guys still have that pic. It cracks me up. LOL

you might be able to get it out of thailand.. but good luck passing the little beagle in the international baggage claim.. that little thing sniffs out every bag in that place..then you just have to answer to US custom..

I think you would have to contact CA DFG, if Thailand allows you to export it. Then it all depends on the country you plan to import it into, make sure the species they allow you to import is allowed, as well if they charge for taxes and such.

Found the link to the CITES rules as well.

What CITES documents are required?
! Import
The import of Appendix-I specimens
requires both import and export
permits. An import permit may be
granted when the purpose of the
import will not be detrimental to the
species’ survival, is not primarily
commercial, and the importer is
suitably equipped to house and care
for live animals and plants.

No import permit is required for
Appendix-II or -III specimens, or for
specimens that quality for other
certificates (see below).

Personal or Household Effects:
The United States recognizes the
CITES personal and household
effects exemption for wildlife and
plants, or their parts and products,
when the import or export is part of a
household move or accompanying the
owner and intended for personal use
(does not include specimens mailed or
shipped separately).
