Anyone lose power from the microburst?

My power went out after the microburst storm hit in tempe. Luckily it was only out for a few hours as I have no battery backup system in place for my tank. Kinda crazy, my first microburst experience since moving to AZ 5 years ago. Fox 10 did some of their live report from the apartment complex where I live. They also showed photos I took during the news broadcast.

Dammm! It pulled those big trees out like a few little weeds haha happened to me once last year i believe the storm from buckeye made it to avondale. Destoryed 3 of my trees...one of which was a giant eucalyptus tree. That tree snapped into a few pieces like a pencil but when it was up, I couldn't even hug the tree having my arms reach completely around. It was fat and looked indestructible!

For around $20.00 you can buy a back up air pump that is battery operated. You keep it plugged in & it only turns on when the power goes out. Hard to believe so many people do not have one.

Good to know that there are cheaper ones out there. Was overwhelmed by the pricing of the MP10 battery backup.

A quick search on Amazon:

Picking one up but leaving it out of the tank unless out of town.

We got hit hard last week in n phx as well. Trees down, traffic light pole twisted, brick wall knocked over, ac unit in pools, etc, etc... crazy storms!

Agree with Bob, I always keep a few with extra battery at all my tanks. Never had to use them, but better to be safe than sorry. I gave away so many to noobies over the years and they look at me funny, lol

I guess I thought this area never had extended power outages. The longest one I have seen before this was about 30 seconds. When I was in the midwest it wasn't uncommon to lose power for days at a time. I wonder if I could be my own backup air pump blowing air into the tank with a piece of airline tubing? But seriously I should invest in some backup MP10 batteries & air pumps.

I was stuck in the 101 this weekend due to down power lines.
That must have sucked. They said people were stuck for several hours on the news. This is one of the photos posted on social media.

I just bought a battery backup, but I only have my return pump powered by it(jebao 9000 dc pump). The backup said it would run for approx 74 min, but the power went out for about an hour the other night and by the time it came back on it said I still had approx 60 min left.
