Anyone make a really long surface skimmer for the nano cleaner?

I want to make a REALLY long surface skim attachment to my nano cleaner. Right now it comes with a short one. Has anybody tried this? Maybe I can create an almost calfo style overflow into the nano cleaner filter. =/

I am not sure how this would work, the flow might be so slow that it would lack the suction needed to really pull in debris, maybe give it a try.
