I went... though I didn't learn anything new, I did meet a lot of new people who also have reef tanks (but have never been to one of our meetings).
Also, it was great to see Caeser's holding an "informational seminar," along with offering discounts of 30% on fish and 40-50% on all corals (there are a couple of nice acros in the big tank right now, but I had already bought some stuff earlier in the day and thus wasn't in a position to spend more money ).
Either way, I thought it was a good first event, and I'm looking forward to attending more of them!
Hopefully I'll be able to make it to this month's NC Reefer's meeting as well (though it is tougher now that we always meet on my "publishing weekend").
I hope you told these people about the club. It's really a shame that Caesar's doesn't believe in promoting the club thru a simple flyer on the wall, but to each his own. Hope you make the next meeting there's a lot of new members.
I made it and had a great time. Learned a few new tips from James that I'm thankful for. Made some new friends and the food and drink were good. Can't beat that with a stick.
My daughter was going to go because she is really interested in smaller (Nano) tanks but couldn't make it. She was really bummed out. Due to space in our home I would love to go Big as everyone wants but I'm very content with what I got in my 29 B.C.
Thanks again James for the info and the newly acquired coral.
Ken. She had to get her appendix out. She was in Thurs at about 9pm. After a quick I mean a slowwwww misdiagnosis of a urinary infection. She had emergency opp at 2am Fri morning. They sent her home at 11 am sat morning. Wife and daughter Back in the ER at 9pm Sat night Till 3am Sun. Last time was due to pain and a stomach ache. But the good news is she is getting her teenage wine back. I was worried they might have taken that to but it looks like the only they removed was the appendix.
Thanks for asking Ken I mint to give a update but got tied up.
My father is a surgeon and my mother was one of the nation's top cardiologists. I entered college premed but graduated biology-psychology. I can't believe those bozos couldn't tell the difference between a UTI and an inflammed appendix! They fooled around for 48 hours??? When the appendix gets upset, it will rupture if left untreated and can cause potentially fatal issues.
I'm glad to hear she's getting her whine back. It's a good sign...
