As I mentioned, closed loop heating. It works quite well in the more Northern climates like ours.

How ! Is your basement heated? Do you insulate the tank with foam sheets? How big was your sump ?

I ran 100g with 600w heater and it was 75f in peak winter.

Pls share...i might go for 150g.... instead of 120g next.

My basement isn't well insulated. I don't have any source meaning I don't have baseboard or a HVAC unit. It's a DIY 40 gallon breeder. Also a DIY stand. Tank is not insulated the stand and cabinet is made of 2x4's and 3/4" plywood.

Sorry it's not a 300 watt it's a 400watt aquatop heater

All the equipment and lights give off heat as well. Hope this helps
