wait... so what's the bad news?

yeah...wish i could get the fish back from lapsan. all i could get now would be some fish bones...
well the bad news wouldve been that for the prospective buyers the tank wouldnt be available.

im just pulling your legs. im not interested in getting another 200+ gallon tank. when the time comes, ill settle for a 90-125gallon cube.

Why you lie me? :bum:

I just emailed John too.

argh, the guy said he'd hold it for me. i guess i can't blame him for selling it to someone that was there w/ cash. well good luck, happy reefing. excited to see some pics

A few months back I almost bought this tank. At that time he told me he bought it off eBay from a Hollywood studio. He also did not know who manufactured the tank. It's interesting that he now calls it a Lemar tank, at least he chooses the best...

Knowing that and the fact that he would NOT send me any pictures deterred me from making the trip from Salinas to buy it. At that time all he was selling was the tank, stand and he also had a trash can full of sand. I thought he told me that there was a scratch in the front that was only visible when all the lights were on. I may have misunderstood him and it could be on the side. Also, are those dimensions a 200 gallon tank and not 220g?

This looks like a great set-up and now with the equipment included it appears to be an even better deal. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures.

It was a jaunt even from SF to Cloverdale. It's a beautiful tank though. He did buy it from Hollywood. I don't know if it was originally on Ebay or not.

The sheer fact that I put close to that much into my 55 Gal acrylic makes this so much worth the cost. The wood work alone is worth 2K. I'll need to re-configure the sump and possibly the way the return is set up but still an awesome deal.

I am driving up with a small crew in a uhaul tomorrow. I will post pics as I get them together. Hopefully by Monday at the latest.

And yes it is only a 200 gallon based on the dimensions. Maybe I should ask for a discount. ;-)

I had told him it was a 200, I guess he "forgot".

That's awesome that you bought it. I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures and seeing it set-up!

What stopped me from buying it was the depth. 33" is real nice, then again with stand it would be almost 48" from my wall... that just won't work in my house. : I'd bet that the scratch can be polished out with enough elbow grease.

Good buy!

Whatever Jacob. Like you're really gonna buy something that big. :D Actually for that price, I'd bought it in a minute, but I don't need a new tank. I probably would have left the scratch in to keep me from being too A-null.

Jacob,

You in the market for a new one?

What up Heck-tore.

You in the market for a new one?
Not really but I always keep my eyes open :)

I was actually going to break my tank down and get a nano, but decided against it. I want to start over with a bigger tank, lots of fish and softies, but not a lot of lights, gadgets, or expensive corals.

Ok here comes the fun

Ok here comes the fun

Ok I got the tank set up finally. I had to re-inforce the floors as this is an old house in San Francisco.

After getting the stand back together I wasn't confident in it's stability either so I ran some cross members across the back and now it's steady as a rock.

And from the side:

I have it full of fresh water to test the plumbing. Seems to be fine. I still have to do the wiring and we're all set.

A few questions:

I have to fill this thing with salt eventually. I was thinking it would be much faster to have NSW delivered. Does anyone know if I can get 200 gallons of NSW delivered?

Also if anyone knows of any way to determine GPH from a pump I'd love to know how. I had to turn this one down a bit as the overflow didn't seem to be able to handle the pump when it was opened up all the way.

TIA
