Here's my experience with Rob and Auraled:
A few months ago, I ordered a 175Watt, 6' setup for my 180G tank which was FOWLR in hopes of starting a reef tank for the first time. There were a few delays with the order, but I received it a few weeks after I ordered it (missing a couple of dimmers which were on back order)
Once I hooked everything up and put it into my canopy, I immediately noticed that they were not nearly as bright as my old 3 tube VHO's (yes, I said old...) I consulted with my guy who services my tank and he suggested that I didn't have enough light to grow corals. I called Rob and let him know.
He agreed to send me 2 additional strands of white lights and an extra dimmer for free and assured me that I would be able to grow any type of coral that I wanted. Well, sure enough I received the extra strands and dimmer which were easy to add to the retro kit. He also sent me an extra strand of LED's to light up my sump area for my understanding and patience.
So now I have the lights up and running. Still not as bright as the old VHO's, but they look nice. I am not sure about the PAR readings or if they will grow coral yet because I am having a bit of a chiller problem at the moment... my tank is running at 86 degrees no matter what I do (lights on or off). I can tell you that there is still heat coming off these LED's. I was under the impression that they would almost run cool, but I was wrong.
Overall, Rob was an honorable guy who did everything he said he was going to do.
I'm just not sure about the coral growing ability of the lights. For FOWLR, they are great.
He does have caller ID and knew when I was calling, so I assume he caould easily choose not to answer. The best way to get him is via email. Keep sending and he will eventually respond (at least he did with me).
Good luck all.
