Anyone try AuraLed?

Yep you still kep it try and part it out. He did not even bother to reply to a single email paypal sent and they sent a ton. Just happy i got my money back. Spent extra and ordered 3 AI SOL Blue. They arrive on Wednesday

I feel bad for the guy, he thought he had something. It obviously overtook him and now he's going under on it. BUT he should have known we would test the fixtures. My friend got one, it tested 130 par 3" from any spot on the lights and less from there above water, under water = forget about it. I have pictures for proof although I doubt anyone needs to see them to believe it. And for the guy that claims good par numbers, I call shanagens.

What I think is painfully obvious is that people put weight in this company because they have been around years (as a sign company). These guys were idiots to put out a product they clearly didn't test and then to think it would make them money long term. People in this hobby don't like throwing away their money so in the instance where we occasionally buy a bad product, we are going to talk about it and the word will spread fast. This industry is truly cut-throat

Well said. I persoanally spoke with Rob, and thought from speaking with him, and his feedback on Ebay, it was a win/win situation. It is disheartening to see how this has played out. I am also glad I went a different route, with Current USA LED Pro strips.

woah..................Auraled, disturbing, I was so close to ordering,IF he had called me back I would have placed that order and like everyone else regretted it!

I ordered my kit from RapidLed last week, Mike, who ansers the phone there, is completely awesome.. right up front with what he thinks will work for you - they sell a ton of this stuff, and they are knowledgeable ...

Good company to work with - they wont try to oversell you...

x2 on Rapidled, here is a link to my BC29 kit build thread, its just a start for now, i will update as I go. I was really pleased with the service I got from them. Mike is also very active on this forum in his sponsor section. It seems that all questions are answered very quickly.

You can count me as 1 of the guys who got screwed. I will be buying a new light setup in a few months. I have had enough of these lights.

I just got screwed from ebay with these lights because Rob won't return my calls, I went to ebay for help and they decided in the sellers favor because the items couldn't be returned in the state they were received and I was like "No S*&T they aren't in the same state, when I got them they were working and now they are just broken pieces of crap hanging from a reflector". So much for 2 years parts and labor and a 100% satisfaction or your money back guarantee!

unfortunately I can see this list getting bigger and bigger. I would recommend people to avoid these lights unless they want to drop about $1000 on a light for fish only.

Chicken did you use paypal? Once I opened my claim I had to wait the 10 days they give seller to respond and he never did so I got my money back the very next day. Sorry Ebay was not more helpful

The problem with making a claim through pay pal, is that if you wait more than 45 days from your date of purchase they won't even take the case.

The blues stopped working on my Auraled. I looked it over last night and the first one after the plug is on but all the blues on the chain after the first one are out. I think it might be like the old Christmas-tree string light setup, where one would go out so all of them go out. Really bad design. Also a significant number of the LEDs are detaching. I was concerned about this happening, they are just attached w/ mounting tape. Definitely not rated for marine use.

I received the light three months ago. Since it was a month from when I purchased them, I only had a 15-day window to file for a refund through Paypal. That time has passed so I may be out of luck.

Rob is not responding to email or phone messages. So much for his promise of a 2 year warranty. I filed a complaint with the BBB and recommend others do the same. I submitted using the Auraled name, but maybe should have done "All Brite Sign" instead. I think I'd probably have to sue to get my money back, and Auraled / All Brite Sign is likely out of business anyway. This really sucks.

Looks like this purchase was a bad decision. Oh well, live & learn I guess.

Mine work but are not nearly bright enough for a reef. The entire tank was in decline so after trying them for 2 months I put my T5 fixture back on. The coral that were still alive are starting to rebound. I had hoped to salvage the fixture by adding another 4 strings of lights to it but , like others, cant get them to return phone calls or email. I jumped on these because I could afford them at the time. Wish I'd waited until I could afford a proven fixture.

Important message for people ripped off by Auraled:

1) If you paid for the Auraled fixture via paypal and it is currently NOT operating or meeting Auraled's claims, open a paypay dispute ASAP even if you are beyond the 45-day buyer protection window. If Paypal receives a "large" number of disputes against a seller they may open a claim even if the 45 days has passed. I do not know how many disputes this requires, but it's worth a shot.

2) Open a dispute with the BBB at https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint/ The info I used:
NAME: Auraled Lighting Systems, ADDRESS: 5121 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Ste A2, Norfolk, VA 23502, PHONE: 757 462-9108 They will ask you for documentation. You can either fax or mail them printouts of the emails you received, ebay post (if applicable) & receipt.

If Paypal &/or the BBB can't provide resolution, the next step is to file a complaint with the FTC. I've decided this is too much money to just let it go.

dont forget to send a letter to the Virginia State Attorney General's office too..
THEY WILL investigate the situation

Robert Wood took the Auraled project with him when he split from Allbrite Signs on July 1, 2011. At that point, he absorbed all clients past & present as well as the liabilities associated. I have not spoken with him since the split. Other contact information should be available through Ebay, or the business email auraled@hotmail.com.

Respectfully,

Mark St. Clair

WOW crash and burn!!! what an epic fail. Im suprised nobody noticed the corals streching SOO far for light in all the pics and vids in the first couple pages. Unfortunate for those involved...
