Anyone up for another 135 Thread?

dude, i'm a student to 15 as well to boot man. Just go with the flow man. You've got the setup already, the big investment is over. Whens your B-day man? Thats where most of my equip. comes from. But if your heart is completly set on downsizing do something like a 58 RR. It'd work with your two pendants too. Stick it out or join the 58 club with me :). Come on I love your tank whats wrong with it?

I would love to have a 135, but the costs are daunting. I would love a nice car a lot better. What about a 75gallon? or a 90 those are pretty sweet! How about a cube?? I really like the looks of cubes especially with t-5s

I still think you're being impatient.

I can read between the lines...:)

Going from a 135 to a 120 makes no sense...you lose a whole foot of tank.

Remember, you tend to like large fish.

A tang is ok in a 135, but probably not the best idea in a 120...yes that 1ft makes a huge difference.

Keep in mind that you have ALOT more fish choices...and options for fish combinations in a 135 than in a smaller tank.

The 40 Breeder IS a wonderful setup....but I'm a bit biased...:D

Have you considered trying to get a job at a local fishy store...? Discounts + money

Well remember, I'm unhappy with my tank itself, the glass box. So I figured with a 120, I could still keep 1 or 2 big fish, but not lose the water volume, and be happy with the TANK (glass box, not insides). I'm very happy with the insides of my tank; heck, I just spent 3 hours cleaning the valonia! That went great, everything is growing great, I'm just not happy with the setup.

Yes, in fact, I'm going there today, and seeing what I can do. Remember though, I am 15.

Remember, if I had a good 135, one that suited my needs, then I would be happy. But my setup is pretty shabby, and was rushed put together.

Now about the fishies, yes I like big fish. A lot :D. But if it keeping a big fish means keeping a shoddy setup, then I will give up the big fish. Remember, Larry is still staying with me, in the big sump. So really the only fish I'm missing out on is the tang. It is my favorite fish, but I can give it up, and be content looking at Rich's tank with all his awesome tangs.

Oh well, I still have much more thinking to do.

just keep going man you will regreat it later when you tear down a big tank then when your little tanks are finished you think to your self "i wish i didnt tear down that tank"

At the LFS today, while picking up my Frogspawn, I saw a 58RR. Could be the tank I'm looking for, it looks perfect for me.

some 135

Greg's is the only one that will convince me to stay

Still thinking, considering, rethinking...

Did some researching...found a shop carrying 100g stock tanks, $68.82, nice. Then I have to get 2x 20L and a 10g, and the pendants. The 90 is sold, so there will be some friendly ca$h. Applying for jobs too. I think it's pretty much final. I can have a mediocre 135g system, or an insane nano system. My fuge will be lit by 220w of VHO, and the 20s lit with a 250w DE each...it doesn't get much more gangster than that.

Oh, and I will take a picture of the new Frogspawn when I finish acclimating it. It already started expanding in the acclimation bucket, so I think it will like the tank a lot :)

Take a deep breath.

Keep the 135 - you'll regret it later if you don't....

You don't *have* to have streams.... Thousands of people have done without them for *many* years.

You don't *have* to have the 3rd MH.... Keep your lower light corals in the section of the tank without the MH.

You can add new equipment at any time. And, then you can sell your older equipment to help offset the cost. (i.e sell MJ's after buying a stream, etc.)

And, yes - you did rush through everything with the 135. ;) The whole "chipped glass" incident comes to mind. ;)

We don't want to see you trying to sell your 3 tanks to buy a new 180 or something 10 pages down this thread....

Frogspawn's in! Pictures later once he opens up.

This is very difficult, this choosing game. Maybe I can setup a nano tied into the main tank, and have both be reefs? Then I can have both? Thinking thinking thinking

220w vho over fuge thats nuts and overboard you can go to walmart and buy thost lights of america bulbs (the spiral ones) and light it with them they use half the watts i got 2 bulbs on my 55 ref i think there comparable to 150 watt regular lights but use half the power and last twice long

That would be if I went with the new idea. I'd still have my IceCap430, so why not put it to good use?

but why run your parents electrical bill up sell the 430 put the money aside for tunze's i got 2 6100 and the 7095 controller by far the best purchase i have made i'm getting 2 more after i buy my aquacontrller pro 3

That is true, I already have a fuge light. Just thinking of ways to pimp out the system, so to say. If I were to put the VHOs over the fuge, I'd have no need for Tunze...it would be in the small system, and the Mag18 would provide flow for all 3 tanks.

o ya i was just reading back alittle now your thinking about taking the 135 down and downgrading to 2 -20 and a ten you just set that up didn't you have another tank that was set up before the 135 for only a short time?
