Anyone using a light mover?

Hey Stoney how big is the actual motor and rail like from top to bottom? I am just wondering if I go this route how big the canopy would be. I want to make it like a big pendant about 4" off the water hanging on some metal rods I will build for the hanging of the pendant.

My Argramover is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. If you want, I'll try to take pictures of it.

I'll be taking plenty of pictures during the build process anyway.

How did everyone's coral respond to the light rail? I have a friend who put a 4ft unitl with a 20K 250W DE fixutre over his prop system and his SPS lost color....

I'm probably a couple weeks out from working on my lighting and the canopy cabinet that they're going into. I haven't even set my tank up yet, but I'm thinking that this week it will get wet. Gotta find someone with a truck so I can take the stand to my office at work. Won't fit in my car.

You can see my build "blog" here...

I told you the aragamover was nice:D and it actually does what its supposed to. they do get louder as the salt creep works into them. Mine has been running good in a totally harsh environment . they are totally cool:)

the size? the can be made to run any distance, in my case they run back and forth 8'. They run on a channel that can be bought at most hardware stores:D

So you don't have to buy the rail from them? Are you just moving one light back and forth 8 feet?

The rail is supposedly available at Home Depot and stuff, but I haven't checked yet. I'm really looking for some aluminum rail, but I think that's going to be a lot harder to find. I only need about 38", maybe less.

that rail can be bought in poly as well but harder to find . And I am moving 2 lights 8 ' and its just suplimental light
