Anyone using the EVC MH bulbs?

I was using 250w 14k's. I like it, definatly more than the hamilton 10k's I have now.

Yes I was thinking on the 14K's I want alittle more blue. I'm thinking on using the 10k's mixed with 14K's.

Hopefully, more will chime in.

I'm running 3 of the 10k's now, and have 2 of the 20k's that I'm fixing to hang with them. all in 400w . I also like them better than the Hamilton 10k's . This will be the first time I have used 20k's so can't really compare them yet.
I have used the 14k's in the past. They had a nice color to them.

I'm running EVC 14K's. After running them for about 8 months now, I'm ready for a change.

I've got three 250w 14K EVC HQIs running and am very happy with them. I'll likely replace them with the same.

RCS do you also have alot of sps in your tank? Is the colors holding for you. I will be using the e-ballasts.

I'm running two 250watt E-ballasts by EVC and 2 20k bulbs and love em! I will definitely stay with the same here.

I've got the whole setup from Ocean Encounter: 250w 14K HQI EVC, EVC electronic ballasts and PFO pendants. Very happy with it, and the price is right.

All my SPS seem to do very well. You can check a few pictures in my gallery to check out some of them. I run the halides alone without actinic bulbs and they allow my zoanthids and other corals to fluouresce and provide good growth/color for my acros as well.

I've had both 14K SE and 14K DE and the 14K DE is great color and my corals are thriving! I didn't care for the 14K SE, just too blue for some reason???

I agree on the 14K SE being to blue. JMHO

I just ordered Reeflux 10K's.

Yea, I will agree, They are a little on the too blue side- Still better than most 10k's in my eyes.

used to use the 10k's, very white, similar to xm 10k's.

i just went back to radiums after starting with them a few years ago.

radium>hamilton 14k>ushio 10k>iwasaki>evc 10k>reeflux 10k>radium

I am running 250w 10K DEs. They look about the same as the Ushio 10Ks I ran before. Even with actinics, the tank is pretty white, but I am not sure I want to sacrifice the PAR that I would lose by going with 14Ks.

Znut, I finally got around to ordering some 250 watt 10K evc bulbs. I have them on a reduced photoperiod of three hours for acclimation. My pink pocillopora seems to show some mild bleaching at the base. Hope this is temporary. Other corals seem ok. My purple monti cap and crocea clam seem to really like the new lights.
