Anyone using these lights?

I was gonna get the 17" one but I hear the legs won't mount it to a 24" tank. Anyone know if that is right or not?

You can just hang it using the hanging kit that comes with it.

I don't want to do that... I want one that mounts to the tank. I rent so don't wanna dril holes..

Mine has some very small holes, about 5/16 I think. should be no problem to patch when I move in two months. The pedant itself is very light and does not require much to hang it.

My LFS just got in a bunch of these and are selling them for the same price as the ones online, if I had not just bought new light they are mighty tempting.

Well, Im thinking of buying the 175wx2 mh setup. But, I just wanta make sure its safe to go out and buy some 150w HQI bulbs when the 175's burn out.

I have had my lights running for nearly two months straight now:

bump. Out of all these ppl, no one knows? Heres the question again.

"Well, Im thinking of buying the 175wx2 mh T5x4 setup by odyssea. But, I just wanta make sure its safe to go out and buy some 150w HQI bulbs when the 175's burn out."

if your going to buy the 175w X2 and then buy 2 150w when they burn out, why not play it safe and buy the 150w X2 and not worrry at all. I might be worng but if your running more current into a light bulb than it was ment to handle, then if you put 150w on a 175w ballast then you will burn them out really fast.

no clue...i would just go with the 150w mh HQI fixture. I think I have seen a 175W HQI bulb just cant remember what site? If find it again ill post it.

I've had some experts checking on this whole 175W or 150W DE question. Consider a 400W magnetic ballast puts out 430W. A 150w magnetic pulse start ballast would have a hard time driving 150W DE bulbs. So the reality is it's not dangerous having a 175w magnetic pulse start ballast drive 150w DE bulbs. Worst case is bulb life could be a little shorter.

I also had one person tell me they think the ballast is mislabeled. With all the other misinformation provided by Odessa it would't surprise me.

I'm still trying to figure out if the blue bulb is good for the coral or is it just for looks or what.... why would they throw in a blue bulb if it isn't worth having... Should I replace it with a diffrne't brand true actinic.. or just wait till it needs to be replaced..

What was the final verdict on the 17" MH legs? Too short for a 24" tank?
other question was can you get True actinics to fit this fixture?
Like hellolights true actinics CF? I am totally in love with these on my big tank.
