I'm also looking for a new skimmer. The 180 seems too good to be true!!!

I've sent them a request for more info. I'll post thier response. However, due to the time of the year, doubt they will respond too quickly.

Just to let you all know, I have the JEBO 48" 4x55w PC silver fixture. I like it and haven't had any problems with it on my 55g. It does get hot, but only raises my temperature 1-2 degrees by the end of the day, but that could be helped by the 3 MJ1200s. I found this thread on here because I was looking for replacement bulbs and thought I'd chime in. I cracked mine today :(.

Right now on Ebay the 48" fixture is on sale for $69 and the replacement bulbs were 2 55w 10000k for only $25 on ebay. Bulbs are straight pin if you care. They have been well worth the money.

With no phone number you gotta be leary. But at these prices you have to stop and wonder what you are paying for with the other guys?????????????

You are paying a ridiculous markup which they charge because people are willing to pay for it. The parts for a complete 2x 250w MH canopy cost $300-$350 retail, and a company could do it for a lot less. The catch is that you have to do it yourself. Lots of people can't or don't want to do it themselves though so instead they buy a premade fixture for twice the price and the company pockets a few hundred in profit. People pay it, so companies charge it.

I've been to their store. I picked up the small 18 watt power compact for my 1g pico and a the 24 in for my 20g. Some things are cheaper online and somethings are cheaper in the store. One notable item that was cheaper in the store was the Jebo 180 skimmer. It was $29 at the store. Have had the lights for 1.5 months and no problems at all.

30 day warranty?

30 day warranty?

I wouldn't buy this stuff simply because they only warrant it for 30 days, which according to their policies page, starts on the day they print the packing slip, which means you really get about 20 days after you get the stuff.

Twenty days isn't long enough for most of us to even get the thing installed, let alone have the bugs shaken out.

This is just the cheapest Chinese stuff available. If it were any good, they'd warrant it for a year.

I have owned the 48" light fixture for almost qa year now and have had NO problems with it. I broke 2 bulbs a couple weeks ago and decided to upgrade to Hellolights bulbs instead. They are much better. The fixture is fine and inexpensive, but the new bulbs are incredible compared to the JEBO bulbs that come with it. Still a very good buy for the money. I always check the posts when someone asks about this brand and quite a few people have gone ahead and bougth from them. I have heard very little to no negative comments except for the bulbs being a little weak.

So I went to the store today to check things out. These guys are going to be making a lot of business. They wouldn't let me take any pictures. The aquariums and stands were really nice. They have cheap knock-off's of everything (carbo plus, eheim canister filters). Things are made with the cheap plastic, but it looks really nice for the price you pay. I'm looking into getting the 150 W MH system. It comes with everything, hangers, mounting legs, bulbs. It comes with an electronic ballast that is floor mounted and has a digital timer (nothing cheap about it). The fixture is metal and looks really nice. Comes out at the end of the month.

It doesn't say its not either. I think its one of those assumed features. I'd think it would be illegal to sell it otherwise. You can always ask though.

I doubt it's UV glass, and doesn't need to be since they're not DE bulbs. Even if they were double ended, though it wouldn't be illegal to sell it without UV glass.

Wondering, I see ther eone light scoem with 55 watt bulbs, opposed to 65 w. Is this an odd bulb, will this ballast take 65's? I cna only find 65 w bulbs for sale, not any 55.

Have any of you bought the ODYSSEA 48" 384W METAL HALIDE for $329.90 yet? Or the smaller 24" version of it for that matter? Curious to get any kind of feedback about these lights.

On another note, I searched the AquaTrader website today for ad finally found one - for RMA's. I gave it a try today and got an immediate answer. The person was asian an not very knowledgeable. Then again, it was a Sunday afternoon...

I simply wanted to know if there was any sort of manufacturer's warranty, if there is a manifacturer's website, etc etc. I was also curious about bulb types for future replacement, etc etc. She told me that the product is made in China and shipped to them. Every bit of information they have for the light is the stuff on their webpage.

There is no manufacturer's warranty. However, they do offer a 6 month warranty for $69.

Anyways, if anyone has purchased this product, any further information would be appreciated.

Only if using double ended bulbs, which these fixtures aren't

They are DE look at the pic of the hood showing the underside of the fixture.

BTW ScooterGuitar, I belive 55 and 65 watt bulbs are interchangeable.
