I love your lights guys. Can we see some pics of the tank in the room with the lights off? I'd like to see how these are mounted and the overspill of the light into the room.
I bought the "Pro-Pak" skimmer back in November, and its working just like a CPR. I replaced the generic Powerhead with a rio600 venturi, just like the CPR's used. Communication with aquatraders back then was great, but they haven't answered the email I sent them a week ago about the 24" MH lights.

I'm afraid my "tank room" has lights from several tanks. :)

I just made a new order from Aquatraders. They have great prices on power compact bulbs. I bought repalcement bulbs for my old corallife power compact unit on my 55 tank. The 55W bulbs are only 11.50 each... Cheapest I've ever found anywhere else is around 18 each.

These are straight pin configuration, not square. Hellolights has the square pin for buy one get one free, not the straight pin @%^.

Anyways, I got four bulbs ordered for $58 w/shipping.. Basically half price of what I usually pay. Hope I like them! :)

I just received a UPS shipping email/notification with tracking number for my Aquatraders order placed last night. I mention this because I never got a tracking number for the lighting fixtures I purchased a couple months ago. Also, the overall order process on their website was very nice in comparison to the old site. Looks like the little company is making nice improvements.

yeah the website is nice but the customer service is lacking.. they told me I could buy a new bulb lense and fan and when/if ups covered the light they broke they would refund the money to my credit card...... what a crock.. I don't have the extra money to buy 2 96 watt lights and a new lense and fan pay to have them shipped and possibly broken agian only to be at their mercy.. for all I know UPS could pay them to replace the light for me and them just pocket the money leaving me to dry.. I was told unless I pay for the replacement parts I just have to wait on them an ups and they said ups was really slow there was a ton of paperwork and it was really hard to get things done...

:9(

Here are some pics with my fixture hung from the ceiling about 13" above the water. One is with a shroud I built to let me look at the tank without being blinded by the light. It helps a lot with keeping the light from spilling all over.

Odyssea 175 W MH + 2 18 W PC Lights

Odyssea 175 W MH + 2 18 W PC Lights

I just recently bought these lights. I ordered them on Saturday and received them, via UPS on Tuesday. So far the lights have worked great! The only problem is that the mounting legs only spread to about 19.5". They advertized up to 24". The instructions on mounting were vauge and did not go into detail. Any one have any sugesstions if it's possible to spread the mounting legs farther? Or do you think they sent me too short of legs?

Great Deal

Great Deal

Yes I think they are a great deal. So far I've had no problem with the lights. The only problem, as I previously mentioned, is with the legs not being wide enough for my tank. It also has mounting hardware to hang, but because of my high ceiling I prefer to use the legs.

So what about htese protein skimmers? I'm looking at the Jebo 180 $35. I'm worrying if it will dump micro bubbles into my tank and annoy my corals?

Anyone have an experience with this skimmer? It would go on my 20g.

Hi, I got a quic question for folks that have the T5's from aqautraders. I am thinking about purchasing 2 of the 36" 78W T5 HO Fluorescent Fixtures. Question is this. I have a 33 gallon and a hood that I made out of wood for it. Would it be possible to get the lights, reflectors, and everything else out of the mentioned fixtures and put them in the hood, or would that be a no go?

Thanks for the help.

Personally, after reading this thread, I'd be unlikely to run high intensity MH lighting or even multiple florescents around water (higher conductive salt water at that) knowing the fact that the quality is suspect. I've known one reefer who lost his home for a year due to a problem from florescent lighting, and its never a good situation.

Having said that, the DESIGN of their LED moonlights intrigues me. I've never seen anyone offer a submersible series like this before.

I got some help with taking better pictures with my camera. This is a more realistic shot.. Pardon the glare from windows.
