Welp talked to elvis late last night.. UPS got through to him he is going to replace the broken parts all I have to do is put them together when they get here.... I hope they bulb doen'st getting broken this time I don't know what I would do.

I wish it had not taken so much effort on your part, but I hope your issue will finally be completely resolved soon. Good luck!

It's cool.... I just don't know why they wouldn't ship me anouther light fixture and let ups handle it.. (like ups said they would under their insurence program) I just don't think they at aquatraders understood they could send me anouther light and ups would reimberse them for the expense... instead of just shipping me anouther light they are shipping me parts and expect me to be able to put it back together... (a lense the bulbs and a fan)
I wonder what if I didn't have a clue how to put the light together replace a fan or something what would I be expected to do...
are they trying to "save money" by getting reimbersed for the light then just sending me peices from other broken fixtures....
I dunno.. just seems funny....
Also how the heck do they know (or I) that the light doesn't have other issues... if it was dropped hard enough to crack a lense shatter bulbs and knock a fan loose.. what happens if I get all the stuff put it together and the light doen'st work... what will happen if the light bulbs break agian because instead of being in the light and shipped they are being shipped in just a box ???

As the buyer of a product I really don't have any say in the process .. it is between Aquatraders and UPS to figure out whats best to fix the problem for me.. if anything.. since I didn't pay to have the item shipped ups says its not my issue.. aquatraders says its my light its my problem.... They are taking care of it but I had to persuade them to work with ups. I do't think they understand the concept of insurence and shipping policies and procedures.

For the actinics, check the last few pages of the thread for my posts.. I left detailed information... The specific bulbs are purchased from marineandreef.com but are not listed directly on their site.. You have to call them.. but check the thread... as I am too lazy right now. :D

hi all, wow, i just spend the last 30min reading through this thread. A lot of info. I notice someone asked about the T5 HO 36" w/o much of a respond. I'm too in looking at the T5 HO 36", has anyone bought those before??

http://www.aquatraders.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=20

And i heard people mention that thier T5 HO really isn't HO?? I know they sell both the HO model and the regular model.

any inputs would greatly appreciate it

thanks

one more thing, i have a 50gal acrylic tank w/ like a 3" lip on top of the tank. will the t5 light fixture fit that???

i dont see why it wouldnt be- it says 39W for each bulb

I dont understand how their MH fixture can come with a 175 watt DE , since i dont think they make them? cuz no one sells them.

Also i tried to call ther a few times and the only people you can get ahold of is the foreigners that can barely understand what you are saying. I dont think the onwer likes to deal much with the customers.

Well I am really thinking about the 24 inch fixture for my 26 bow front. I am worried about over driving the bulbs though. What is the long term effect of doing this?

Also will a 150w de hqi be enough light on a 21 inch deep tank? If this thing wont work I am back to paying $120 more to get an aqua medic light. I have $300 in my budget for lights, but would like to save some and buy some frags.

Also I ordered 2 24" 110w Jebo PC fixtures about 8 months ago from aquatraders. I had fast shipping and no problems. I was actually over charged shipping on one order and never noticed. I didn't notice till aquatraders refunded the differance.

Any input would be great, thanks guys.

AJP,
I have the 24" and it works fine for now. However, if I was to do it again, I would get a retro and build a canopy. More bang for the buck that way and you will find better quality. I'm not sure why they would put a ballast for a 175W SE bulb and use the DE connector in the fixture. Couldn't they have just used the same ballast found in their 48" fixture ballast? Or just put a mogul in there. I wonder if the 175W ballast is just cheaper so they used it. The box mine came with said 150W MH. But noticed the 175W sticker on the ballast and decided to open up the case and verify that it is indeed a M137 ballast.

well if you look at the ARO electronic 150 ballst its actually a 150/175 watt ballast .. so i figure, since the wattage is so close why make a different ballast.
