Apartment Reefer

Everything is looking great mate. Those twin radiums will be smokin hot for your SPS and i love the job you did on the scaping. Glad you didn't fall for the 'i have to cover the overflow' trap as the corals will take care of that in due time and no one looks at the bloody overflow anyway when you have a tank full of colorful SPS

Really looking forward to watching your reef evolve over the next 12 months :)

That is a great scape. Those big flat pieces will look great with coral on them.

Thanks, yea I hoping it will look nice with a bunch of Sps on them.

Sweet sump... Hoe much? I lovr the prodibio...

Thanks. The sump set me back about 650, and I've read mostly good things about prodibio so I figured I would give it a try.

Thanks biggles. The radiums looks awesome, I love them. I still might add some LED's in the future, I'm not sure. I can't remember who but some company is making some nice looking LED pendants with a very wide spread that look nice. I may look into those. I'm glad you approve of the scape, and yes I felt no need to try and hide the overflow with a pile of rocks.
Amazing setup. I'll be on board with this one for sure! Nice pics!

Thanks!

Sorry for the lack of posts. The tank went through a long cycle so there wasn't much to post on. Plus I did want to take it slow to ensure stability before adding coral. Right now it's just my clowns and melanurus wrasse in the tank. I also have some snail in as well. Being as the tank is now coral ready I will start to begin to fill it up and will be much more active on the thread. I will add some pictures later today.

Any updates? Got any corals in there yet?

No coral yet, but I will start adding some this week.

What did you use to glue your rock together? Very nice!

I used an underwater epoxy made my loctite.

Love this setup!!!

Thank you!

Updates? Pics?

I'll have some new pics today. =)

Very excellent thread, Quintis. I am loving the scape! I'm subscribed.

Thanks! I didn't have time for pictures yesterday but I did add some more fish, so I'll try to get pics up this evening.

I would like some input and opinions from you all. I want to run some LED's to suppliment my MH's. My 250w radiums on reeflex balists are very strong and I don't need to run them very long, but want the tank lit more than 5-6hrs a day so the LED's mainly just using the blue channels would help with more of a dusk/dawn effect and to bring out more color in corals. With how my MH's are hung I'm trying to figure out how and what type of LED fixture I could incorporate into my set-up.

All I can come up with is a spotlight type LED, as I can't hang anything other fixture up with the MH's and I don't want strip fixtures running across the tank and resting on the rim....which pretty much lands me on the Kessil A360W using the gooseneck mounts. I would attach them to the back of the tank on each side and kind of like swing the gooseneck around as to not be under the MH fixtures and angle them across the tank. I could ramp them up and down with the APEX as well which is a plus. So I guess I just wanted to check and see if anyone had other ideas or suggests another LED spotlight perhaps better than the Kessil. Thanks!

Awesome set up. This is the kind of setup pretty much exactly I want to set up at some point once I get out of college. Look forward to following this.
