Apex but which pH probe?

I'm about to buy an Apex controller. Should I buy the standard probe or the lab grade one?

Do you guys find that the standard 8 outlet plug is enough? Or can you add additional plugs to it? Also, when did the APEX first get released? / How long has it been out on the market?

+1 for the lab grade probe. I feel it's well worth the extra money and has always stayed in calibration for me. For me, 8 plugs is never enough but I added more energy bars with no problem. The apex is so upgradable and easy to use once you get used to it. Best piece of equipment I've ever purchased.

After buying a lab grade, I bought a pinpoint and it holds true, I never realized how many outlets I had until I filled up the first EB8, so I quickly purchased a second.

I've owned both the standard Neptune probe and the BRS probe and have found the BRS probe stays very constant between calibrations. Didn't find that with the Neptune probe. Not saying it's junk... just saying that with the BRS probe, I've cut back on how often I calibrate versus the Neptune one.

You can add additional power bars as you need them. I made due with the standard EB8 for a year, then gave in and bought a EB4 when I added a doser.

It came out August-ish 2009.
